Yep......Americans watched the CNN townhall where they frothed at the mouth and screamed about banning and confiscating all semi automatic weapons......rifles, pistols and shotguns...for normal people....criminals, movie stars, the other rich, and politicians, they will still have access to whatever guns they need or want...

Hogg Effect: May Was A Record Breaking Month For Gun Sales

May set another record for gun sales. The NICS numbers are the best gauges for tracking such activity, though background checks could have been run for concealed carry permits. Hey, that’s still in support of Second Amendment rights (via Free Beacon):

In May 2018, the FBI processed 2,002,992 queries through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). That's more than any previous May in the system's history with May 2017 holding the previous record at 1,942,677. April 2018 saw more NICS checks than any previous April. March 2018 saw more NICS checks than any previous March.

NICS checks are considered the strongest indicator for gun sales because every gun sale made through a licensed dealer requires a NICS check and some states require the checks on used gun sales between private individuals.

I'm curious, why do people keep buying guns? How many is enough? Do they wear out or something like a tire and you have to buy another one?

What you are seeing are more people who have never purchased a gun, looking to get one. Women and minorities in this country are the biggest growth area for new gun owners and also new concealed carry permit holders.....

Exactly.......as more law abiding, good people own and carry guns, our gun violence rates go down, not up.....

We went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 17 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2017...guess what happened...

-- gun murder down 49%

--gun crime down 75%

--violent crime down 72%

Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware

Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.

Women and minorities were always historically under represented in gun ownership, and now they are the biggest growth areas.
