Well as I related, practically speaking, every socialist party and Socialist ever has been for always Democratic fair capitalism with a good safety net. Theoretically, The Definition they always give is, socialism is a society in which all the business is owned or regulated by the community. When it is owned, that is communism and they need a dictatorship because nobody likes it that way and it has failed completely, or the society is well regulated like France Germany Spain and every socialist country ever. However if your party wants national socialism or soviet socialism, you are in a hell of a lot of trouble, even worse than the unfair capitalism we have.

"We are all socialists now!"- The president of Finland when Obamacare passed... But thanks to the scumbag GOP, our health care is not for all yet...

If you are talking about the "they" who fought in every war for the past 200 years and won, yeah, "they" do know what the word means: it is the same no matter how you spell it.

It means someone else decides your fate. It means you will be forced (extorted) to pay half or thereabouts of everything you work for. It means that if you are a high achiever, you will be exploited by the all-powerful elite class. It means that if you are a lazy smucht who makes poor choices, you will be elevated to the same level or above as those who work hard and make good choices. It means real contributions to society will be rewarded with time in prison.

The history books are full of examples. But people who are blind and lazy refuse to open their eyes to the comparisons. History is repeating itself right now, and the shining example that was created by the founders of Americanism is being dismantled before our very eyes. Socialism, communism, totalitarianism, marxism, fascism... all with different flavors, but with a common theme: the average person loses their ability to choose their path and an obnoxious ruling class takes all the benefits of the lower class's efforts. The ruling "class" is chosen merely by its professed allegiance to those men who are more powerful.

Why has Americanism been so powerful and successful over the past several hundred years? A European writer once said that Marxism in America will not come from the proletariat. IMO, this is because the 'proletariat' in America is not stagnant in their position in society. They have some hope of improving their position. Therefore, in order to institute Marxism in America the push must come from the top down. That is, convincing the proletariat they are stuck and can never achieve anything without some kind of Marxist (collective) 'fighting' for them.

This is precisely what is happening now. Our Democrat representatives are constantly trying to convince US we are miserable while, at the same time, actually causing misery with their legislative powers.

Conservatives are indeed complaining about the economy, open borders, and several other things. These complaints are based on the observation that history tells us when that happens, bad things occur.

But the Democrat representatives are telling us things that do not agree with history. The climate is not in crisis: history shows us that climate changes are common. Yet Democrat reps are spending our grandkids' future on non-sensical climate change programs and attempting to take even more of our freedoms in exchange for safety from the climate "crisis". History has shown us that when the government owns and controls all means of production (businesses), then there will be great suffering among the people. Yet the Democratic reps continue to tell us how unfair things have been and they need to implement "equity" to make things better. They take more and more control over all production and property: they grant non-elected bureaucrats control of these things.

I could go on and on about how Democrats have convinced their followers about how bad things are and how they will solve everything "if you just give up some of your freedoms"

I believe we can restore the peoples' rights and the individuals' ability to have hope for the future. These are not miserable things, but we definitely need to take that oppressive foot of big government off our throats to make it happen.
