Wrong. My op and facts are correct. You must be kidding. What a waste of time.
Nope. The Law of Nations didn't include any mention of 'natural born' anything until about 10 years after the constitution was ratified. Leaving English common law as the only plausible (and probable) basis for the founders understanding of 'natural born'.
Which includes anyone born in the US, even to aliens. Exactly as the Supreme Court and the Congressional Study on the matter found.
The Right looks even more stupid for pursuing Obama's birth place, now that they have two candidates whose qualifications are in doubt.
Like Jefferson, Andrew Jackson was grandfathered in as a Citizen president until a natural born Citizen was eligible. Martin Van Buren was the first natural born citizen president born to two US citizen parentsSorry but that ship sailed with Obama. His daddy never became a US citizen, only one of all the presidents parents who did not.
Andrew Jackson, both immigrants from Northern Ireland.
Thomas Jeffersons mother, from England, Buchanan and Arthur, both had Irish Fathers.
Herbert Hoover and Wilson had mother born in another country
The following would seem to hold true for Obama
On the Meaning of Natural Born Citizen - On the Meaning of Natural Born Citizen
All the sources routinely used to interpret the Constitution confirm that the phrase “natural born Citizen” has a specific meaning: namely, someone who was a U.S. citizen at birth with no need to go through a naturalization proceeding at some later time. And Congress has made equally clear from the time of the framing of the Constitution to the current day that, subject to certain residency requirements on the parents, someone born to a U.S. citizen parent generally becomes a U.S. citizen without regard to whether the birth takes place in Canada, the Canal Zone, or the continental United States.2×

James Buchanans dad naturalized as a U.S. citizen before he was born. Thus he was a natural born citizen born to two US citizen parents.
Arthur was ineligible like Obama.
Herbert Hoover and Woodrow Wilson's moms were foreign born BUT when they married their U.S. citizen husbands they were automatically naturalized into U.S. citizens under the 'Act of Febuary 10, 1855 Derivative Marriage Citizenship Law'. That means both Herbert Hoover and Woodrow Wilson were born to two US citizen parents ensuring sole allegiance to America with no foreign sovereign ties. Like Obama, Rubio, Cruzand Jindal are not natural born citizens eligible for Article 2 Section 1.

Rubio is dark-skinned?......................STFU, yet another idiot squawking racist rather than addressing the point ..........hes making a valid argument......Tho to me if Rubio was born and raised here he is a naturally born citizen.

This is post-constitutional America.
There are no longer any concerns about where anyone was born in order to be allowed to run for any office or vote in any election.
There's no reasonable doubts that Rubio and Obama were born here. So what constitutional issues could arise from either?

What part of "post-constitutional" do you find such a challenge to comprehend?
Somehow my original thread got deleted and am unable to locate it from my phone. Anyway here we go. This is a great article laying out the facts about how Rubio is not eligible for Article 2 Section 1 of the Conztitution.
The Supreme Court of the United States has never applied the term “natural born citizen” to any other category than “those born in the country of parents who are citizens thereof”.
Rubio's parents were not citizens when he was born. He is a statute citizen. A statute citizen (bestowed by mans pen) can never be made into a natural born citizen (bestowed by God/nature).
From Rep. John Bingham, father of the 14th Amendment:
"Every human being born within the jurisdiction of the United States of parents not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty is, in the language of your Constitution itself, a natural born citizen.” (Cong. Globe, 39th, 1st Sess., 1291 (1866))"
Again, Rubio's parents were not naturalized U.S. citizens when he was born and had not taken the oath of allegiance.

The part where there is any constitutional conflict related to what we're discussing.
I don't see it.
