The federal deficit hit $895 billion in the first 11 months of fiscal 2018, an increase of $222 billion, or 32 percent, over the same period the previous year, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).

The nonpartisan CBO reported that the central drivers of the increasing deficit were the Republican tax law and the bipartisan agreement to increase spending. As a result, revenue only rose 1 percent, failing to keep up with a 7 percent surge in spending, it added.

Revenue from individual and payroll taxes was up some $105 billion, or 4 percent, while corporate taxes fell $71 billion, or 30 percent.

Earlier analysis from CBO projected that deficits would near $1 trillion in 2019 and surpass that amount the following year.Federal deficit soars 32 percent to $895B

:dunno: Gee The great Douche should've given out 8 Trillion in that BS Tax Scam of 2017
giveaways tax breaks to the 1% never show good returns... Like do they lower their prices? FFS NO!
Do they stop ordering china made goods? FFS NO!

Maybe giving out 8 Trillion would've done better for the National debt.

Exactly.

Even worse for these fruitcakes.... the debt would be even higher than it is now without social security since the government skims off the excess to put towards the budget.

Obama in his first years raised the national debt to 1.5 trillion dollars. Then when he spent less than that each year, the rate was down but totally with 9.5 trillion over his 8 years, the average was 1.15 trillion a year, but a liberal wont tell the truth....

The 2 wars that Gomer started were put on the credit card and the bills came due. Combined with the useless tax cuts the deficit did indeed go up drastically. The GOP thought the wars were free stuff that they seem to enjoy.

And Congress keeps raiding it/them to pay other bills.

"In 1983, The Greenspan Commission came up with a plan to save money to provide for the retirement of the Baby Boom Generation. President Reagan and the Democrat-controlled Congress agreed with the plan and raised Social Security withholding which immediately resulted in a large surplus in the Social Security Trust Fund.

main-qimg-25eef6e6cbf149d3e6603ab20a00f032-c

Unfortunately, Congress saw that surplus and decided to borrow and spend it. It was all very legal. In fact, the United States Treasury even created special bonds to show how much money they owed to Social Security.

Over the next thirty years, that surplus grew to almost $3 Trillion. And Congress spent it"

Clinton dropped the ball a few times himself....you guys put to much faith in these people.....in the documentary ..."the road to 911"....he did not look to great....
The point is, if some action is taken, it could prevent an attack. Whereas if no action is taken, there is nothing thing to prevent the attack. Clinton did something and it staved off an attack. Bush did nothing, and there was nothing to prevent the attack.

Yeah, more rightard hallucinations. :eusa_doh:

In late 1995,when Bin Ladin was still in Sudan, the State Department and the CIA learned that Sudanese officials were discussing with the Saudi government the possibility of expelling Bin Ladin. U.S.Ambassador Timothy Carney encouraged the Sudanese to pursue this course. The Saudis, however, did not want Bin Ladin, giving as their reason their revocation of his citizenship.

Sudan’s minister of defense, Fatih Erwa, has claimed that Sudan offered to hand Bin Ladin over to the United States. The Commission has found no credible evidence that this was so.Ambassador Carney had instructions only to push the Sudanese to expel Bin Ladin. Ambassador Carney had no legal basis to ask for more from the Sudanese since, at the time, there was no indictment outstanding.

It wasn’t a short time later, it was years later. And it was before an attempted hijacking plot like 9.11 which Clinton thwarted; like Bush could also maybe have thwarted if he had just taken some action.

Just because you think something was a fuckup doesn’t mean it actually was one. There’s no indication that al-Qaeda wouldn’t have gone ahead with 9.11 without bin Laden. He didn’t think it up. He didn’t plan it. He didn’t participate in it. He was a spiritual and financial leader of the group.

apparently more than that....according to the 9/11 Commission Report .....
As final preparations were under way during the summer of 2001, dissent emerged among al Qaeda leaders in Afghanistan over whether to proceed. The Taliban's chief, Mullah Omar, opposed attacking the United States. Although facing opposition from many of his senior lieutenants, Bin Ladin effectively overruled their objections, and the attacks went forward.

It doesn’t matter the national debt is far too large to be ever paid back, and the government spending is going up every year because the socialist entitlement programs

Which entitlements?

The usuals Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid

Social Security and Medicare are funded by employees and employers and are not part of the debt

Exactly.

Even worse for these fruitcakes.... the debt would be even higher than it is now without social security since the government skims off the excess to put towards the budget.

Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid are bankrupt

Earlier analysis from CBO projected that deficits would near $1 trillion in 2019 and surpass that amount the following year.Federal deficit soars 32 percent to $895B

giveaways tax breaks to the 1% never show good returns... Like do they lower their prices? FFS NO!
Do they stop ordering china made goods? FFS NO!

Maybe giving out 8 Trillion would've done better for the National debt.

The War on Poverty has cost $22 trillion -- three times more than what the government has spent on all wars in American history. Federal and state governments spend $1 trillion in taxpayer dollars on America's 80 means-tested welfare programs annually.

I have posted this many times before and I am doing it again. We spend 1 trillion dollars a year since the war on poverty started and we still have poverty. Take the money and pay down the debt instead of giving it to liberal scum to sit on their asses and complain, and in 22 years we have paid down our debt, and could be sooner as the liberals would have to get a job and then they can pay into the taxes thus paying the debt down sooner....

The deficit has soared 32 percent......what do you do?
What do you do?

Pass more tax cuts
