A new white paper has recently been released indicating the teacher morale is on the rise as we continue to shake off the corrosive effects of the pandemic and all that "remote learning" shit. Despite the avalanche of doom and gloom so many have been wallowing in, teachers who care about students and love the profession are starting to feel optimistic again. A pertinent quote follows, but the white paper itself lies behind a pay wall unless one is an active teacher.

"according to the second annual Merrimack College Teacher Survey commissioned by the Winston School of Education and Social Policy at Merrimack College and conducted by the nonprofit, nonpartisan EdWeek Research Center. The share of teachers who are very satisfied with their jobs has nearly doubled in the past year to 20 percent. At the same time, the percentage of teachers who say they are very or fairly likely to leave the profession in the next two years declined from 44 to 35 percent."

Many of my high school teachers back in the day were grumpy, resigned to their fate as it were.

That's good news, teachers face more challenges now than ever and are still way underpaid for all they have to do.
No kidding I could never deal with kids today and all the baggage they bring with them. The stress levels have to be off the charts in the unhealthy range.

It takes a little patience.

"In addition, more teachers now say the general public respects them and treats them as professionals, even as schools continue to be caught in the crosshairs of culture wars."
