Residents of a tower block which erupted in flames in a horrific fire said they “predicted a catastrophe” but claim safety warnings “fell on deaf ears”.
The Grenfell Action Group say they repeatedly voiced fears over the past four years about the potentially devastating outcome of a blaze at the Notting Hill building.
In a chilling blog post just seven months ago, it predicted “only a catastrophic event” would make Grenfell Tower tenants’ concerns heard.
It added: “Unfortunately, the Grenfell Action Group have reached the conclusion that only an incident that results in serious loss of life of… residents will allow the external scrutiny to occur”.
London Fire Brigade confirmed a number of people had died after fire ripped through the 27-storey building in the Lancaster West estate near Ladbroke Grove just before 1am.
