No I wouldn't try to equate the two. However, what i mean is, being bombed is something that has happened plenty to the UK in the past. A bit like Iraq , where, again, there is no comparison in bombing 'size'. (however, when Blair says the two are unrelated, one does have laugh (or is it cry?)).

Oh, and we never tried to intern (well for a year or so- but then realised the mistake) or deport the many irish living in the UK
