No, of course not.

We are free to own guns provided we show why we need one, it doesn't hold more than 6 or 7 rounds, doesn't look scary, is not styled like any military weapon, and we don't buy too much ammunition for it. Oh, and we have to take a gun safety class, be seen by a psychiatrist, take a class in safe storage of guns, buy a proper safe, undergo a comprehensive background check including examination of our permanent record from elementary school, and solemnly swear we will never, ever take our gun out of our house or let anyone ever be traumatized by actually seeing it. If we do that we can pay for a gun and then pick it up in 2 years.
