Politico scribe Ben Smith has blasted the Vanity Fair story, calling out its obvious exaggerations. Other liberals such as Mother Jones editor Clara Jeffrey, Slate's David Weigel, Time's Jay Newton Small, among others, are all coming to the defense of Palin and charging the Vanity Fair article with being sexist.
Clara Jeffrey remarked in a tweet that the anti-Palin mudraker was "devastating" to journalistic standards.
Feminist/progressive blogger Melissa McEwan also claimed Vanity Fair was motivated to spew its filth against Palin simply because Palin was a woman, and calling the article "shit".
Wow. Thankfully no-one at USMB got down in the mud with Vanity Fair and posted the contents of the article in here in any kind of gloating chauvinist pig manner - nope, we are all too good for that sort of thing, right?
