Liberalism’s Real Appeal

YEah OK. Romney also had plenty of successes from hos venture capital firm But it doesn't help your cause to mention all the companies that benefited from his work with Bain you know little companies like Staples and Sealy

Get that green eyed monster of yours in check

Again, any company ONLY succeeds because the people who work there are dedicated... The capitalist is a parasite who has convinced you he's a vital organ.

Romney made a fortune fucking over working folks who weren't members of his Mormon Cult.
It takes money to establish a business. Without venture capital there would be far fewer businesses employing people

Welcome to Kansas, Dorothy.

Your problem is you never learned how to play the game

No. We did not have that.

Um, yeah, actually, we did.

Under Ike- The workforce was 33% unionized, and unions had real political power to the point both parties sought their favor.

The Minimum Wage was an actually living wage.

The top marginal tax rate was 93% on incomes over 400K (about $2 million in today's money.)

This wasn't "Communism", but it was just enough socialism to keep Joe Lunchbox from thinking, "Hey, maybe them commies have a good idea."

What corporations robbed you, and how?

My racism that you can't prove?

You mean other than wanting to build a wall to keep brown people out?
So you believe illegal immigrants are only brown people?

Dood...that's racist.

I would say every corporation I've worked for has cheated me in some way or another... you get used to it. Until we do something better.
You agreed to work for the terms they offered. If you got cheated, it was with your own cooperation.

And there is nothing better. Communism/socialism is an utter failure. Only morons believe it's viable.

Why do you guys always act like Communism and Capitalism are the only choices on the menu?

You see, the funny thing is that the thing that changed me from being a right wing republican from a more liberal person was when my boss screwed me over after I had some medical issues in 2007. "I'm glad I don't have to deal with a union!" he smirked.

Yup. You see, with a union, they would be up in your ass for screwing over a long term employee with seniority. But this guy screwed over his long term employees and slowly replaced us with new people who were willing to work for pittance.

Nope, I never agreed to that. You see, the thing is, we don't have contracts anymore. So let's fix that. Let's have every last fucking employee down to the fucking fry cook have a contract. And if employers violate those contracts, then there are sanctions. If employees violate the contract, it's okay to fire them.

Sounds reasonable to me.

Face it, Joey, you are redder than an apple.

Yes, clearly thinking people shouldn't have to work themselves to death so that Mitt can have a dancing horse and a car elevator is totally communist.

Envy is one of the Seven Deadly Sins.

If Romney didn't buy that horse you would still be no better off than you are today

No. Believing government should regulate wages, prices and profits makes you a communist.

Okay, you keep telling yourself that... but the government did that during and after WWII, and we were just fine.
I don’t have to keep telling myself that. You literally said you want government to regulate prices, wages and profits.

Sounds reasonable to me, too. But that's not what unions are for these days. Unions have turned into that which they were formed to protect against -- organizations that exploit workers for money.

Unions are nothing more than Democratic Party donation machines. If you oppose Citizens United, you have to oppose union political donations.

Unless, of course, you're not a reasonable person.

Okay, you tell yourself that. I guess I see union guys, who have protections, good wages, decent benefits, and frankly, worth every penny they get out of their workers.

I know a few union guys who support Trump, but don't realize that he'd be the first one to cook their golden goose

I've seen union guys, too. Some of them are utterly incompetent, do nothing at best and create danger and more work for their colleagues at worst -- yet the union refuses to let them be fired.

But since you support unions, do you also support Citizens United?

No, but maybe Joe Soptic's wife would still be alive. So there's that.

As far as the deadly sins, I'm kind of fond of all of them, but right now I'm leaning towards Wrath!

That's a crock of shit.

If Bain hadn't bought the steel mill it probably still would have closed

no, that was a stupid decision.

I've seen lots of incompetent workers in non-union shops that never get fired, because they are drinking buddies with the boss, or they are someone's niece. I've seen good people fired because they were gay, or because they told the boss he was wrong and could prove it.

That's a crock of shit.

It closed after Bain had bought it after being open for 100 years.

But the important thing was Mitt got his Dancing Horse.

And why did Bain buy it?

Because it was in trouble as most steel mills in the country were.

Because they saw a pile of assets they could loot. Hedge funds are good for that. Buy up a company, loot it for everything they can, fob it off on some other snook. Screw the workers in the process.

The hilarious thing, is watching "Battered Housewife Conservatives" defend it.

So, unions (a group of people united for a common purpose) making political donations is good, but corporations (a group of people united for a common purpose) making political donations is bad.

I'd ask you to explain, but you can't without saying "whatever benefits Democrats is just dandy".
