LeBron wants to play in the NFL

MJ could be a jerk of a teammate and person, but he earned to wear the number by himself.

There. I fixed it. :eusa_whistle:

It is a silly idea that a basketball player thinks his skills on a BB court could be transferable to the level of expertise in pro football.

The only positions that could remotely coincide would be QB or WR/TE. BB players misshandle the ball regularly. The "fumbles" get lost in the flow of the game so there is no penalty for allowing an opposing player access to an errant pass or missed shot. Rebounds collected by the other team and even used to score with are comon.

The shape of a football is obviously different than a basketball. If James thinks he can muscle a football farther than a Tom Brady he may be right..provided he can throw a spiral. If his fantasy is to play a reciever then allowing the ball to "bounce" his whole life would prove to be his downfall in football. Rarely does a basketball player have to catch a ball as he is running at top speed and hang onto it no matter what forces are trying to seperate him from the catch.

Ex basketball players rarely succeed in the NFL. I've never heard of an athlete trying to play both games at the same time.

BB players just are not tough enough to absorb the physical punishment of pro football. BB players skills are more in line with marathon runners or possibly soccor. Probably not soccor because kicking the ball in basketball is a foul..a turnover.. BB players are all about the hands and knowing when to shoot using a skill set that is completely illegal in soccor.

Nope LeBron would be a complete failure in pro football. As a pro football player wouldn't have the wind to run as much as a pro basketball player.

In present times it would be almost impossible to play at the pro level in both football and basketball. In the past, before specialization, Bud Grant and Otto Graham played both pro football and basketball.

There may not be NBA players that transfer to the NFL, but there are certainly former basketball players in the NFL. Hell, it seems like half the tight ends in the league played college basketball at this point, certainly the best receiving tight ends.

And Graham won championships in both football and basketball.
