Then do the same to Lebanon as they did to Russia and kick them out of the Olympics for bringing them into disrepute. If they are allowed to get away with using the Olympics for political views then the Olympics has failed.

The Olympics has now failed for two reasons.
First, at least 60% of the Opening Ceremony was a political event, full of gibberish about the Climate Change Hoax, the "poor refugees" and the Multiculturalism crap.
Second, the special "Refugee Team" parading around in the midst of several nauseating and deeply political diatribes from the stage about how everyone must be Multicultural and "support" the "poor refugees" etc.
It's incredible that the "Refugee Team" had the time to train for the Olympics, I mean escaping war and trekking thousands of miles across at least ELEVEN nations who aren't at war to get to the wealthiest nations in Europa.
For the above two reasons, this household is boycotting the Olympics being held in the craphole called Rio de Janiero.
Oh, the Olympics failed years ago, they're all professionals, now ever professional boxers are in the ring. You have golfers getting annoyed that only the best golfers from a nation are allowed to compete, that companies aren't allowed to advertise etc etc.
The Olympic spirit? Vodka for the Russians who can't go because they were not caught doping, but American cheats caught TWICE are there.....

Lebanon was a beautiful nation until the 1975 Civil War, of which the PLO played a big part in helping to start via tons of Palestinian refugees fighting with the Maronites, then various Pan-Arabist and Leftist groups joined forces with the PLO crowd and then the whole Civil War erupted and went on for 15 years.
The result, Lebanon has been a mess since 1990, and Beirut, which was once called the Paris of the Middle East is a total mess.

Iran has refused when competing one on one with Israel in events.
Olympic origins was a time to put war aside, unfortunately today some political backlash when some countries are competing against Israel have suffered if they do or don't befriend or meet each other.
Miss universe is the most viable example. The contestants have to be in rehearsals and on stage, living with each other as a group during the contest so when some make friends or do selfies it makes press. This is what international competition should be. People coming together from around the world as a global community.
Football, tennis, etc., it can be very disappointing especially when ties in some middle east countries and Israel are becoming stronger and making inroads to normality.

not so easy when "technically" Lebanon is still in a state of war with Israel. Lebanon tried and agreed to peace back in '83 but Syria prevented ratification. A third to half of Lebanese population want to change the situation. The lack of a president for so many years, Hezbollah and nearly as many refugees as Lebanese in the country make actual peace problematic for now. If Aoun does become president it won't change for another decade or more.
Sadly I'd rather a public but non-violent protest at the Olympics over a bus than going back to bombings, assassination and further radicalization between the faiths and parties in Lebanon. If half had gotten on the bus and half not it really it could have split Lebanon down the middle and given Hezbollah the edge rather than a stalemate.

How many people here even realize that Lebanon was established as a country with a Christian majority, I wonder? Between Muslim breeding and Muslim harassment of all who are non-Muslim, however, it has been reduced to just another Islamist hell hole as those who were persecuted move out to get away from it.
How long will it be until Belgium, Sweden or France are facing the same situation, and where will the persecuted be able to move to?

Four out of the top ten here are American. There are others not included, Justine Gatlin, Tyson Gay etc etc.
Or is this just how things work, loads of Russians get caught it's a system of cheating, loads of Americans get caught it's just isolated incidents? You don't think there isn't a system of cheating going on in US sport that has led to so many athletes, especially in athletics, being caught, and caught more than once in many instances?
Who's there to say it isn't a system of cheating but Russia's is?
