Leaked report: Nearly half of US drone strikes in Pakistan not against al-Qaeda ? RT News

A trove of leaked classified reports has confirmed what many had suspected – US drone kills in Pakistan are not the precision strikes against top-level al-Qaeda terrorists they are portrayed as by the Obama administration.

Instead, many of the attacks are aimed at suspected low-level tribal militants, who may pose no direct danger to the United States – and for many there appears to be little evidence to justify the assassinations.

Top secret documents obtained by McClatchy newspapers in the US show the locations, identities and numbers of those attacked and killed in Pakistan in 2006-8 and 2010-11, as well as explanations for why the targets were picked.

thanks for the post, but this might have started under Bush jr. and continued under Obama. when I saw the video's In 2005 I thought no way!.. these guys in Nevada are attacking with hell fires from will at thousands of miles up..... no judge and jury.

There is NO QUESTION this started under that ratty little fuck. Just like arms being sent into Mejico. It was also done in Iraq. The primary reason for killing in both nations Junebug invaded is to kill the enemy of the US government's friends, read, corporations directing the government.

Blackwater/Xe/Academi is a primary corporate conduit. Of death.

None of which absolves Obama. Not a bit of that. Obama is the new Nixon; inherit bad acts, then make them worse.

Actually no arms went into Mexico under Bush, it was all Holder and Obama.

Predator Drone Strikes: 50 Civilians Are Killed For Every 1 Terrorist, and the CIA Only Wants to Up Drone Warfare

It's easy to see why they might want to avoid the subject. The use of drone strikes have increased exponentially under the Obama administration, becoming a signature aspect of his incredibly aggressive and reckless foreign policy. And while the president and his advisers defend both their supposed legality and precision while simultaneously bragging when convenient and denying when pressured that the drone program even exists, a closer look at the use of Predator drones tells a very different story.

Despite claims from the administration that drone strikes have killed very few civilians, multiple independent reports confirm that Obama is severely downplaying the wreckage that these drone strikes inflict. It is ultimately impossible to get exact numbers, but a new study from Columbia Law School’s Human Rights Institute finds that the number of Pakistani civilians killed in drone strikes are “significantly and consistently underestimated” by tracking organizations which are trying to take the place of government estimates on casualties.

There are estimates as high as 98% of drone strike casualties being civilians (50 for every one "suspected terrorist"). The Bureau of Investigative Journalism issued a report detailing how the CIA is deliberately targeting those who show up after the sight of an attack, rescuers, and mourners at funerals as a part of a "double-tap" strategy eerily reminiscient of methods used by terrorist groups like Hamas.

Another story.

Obama 'Surprised,' 'Upset' When Anwar Al-Awlaki's Teenage Son Was Killed By U.S. Drone Strike

WTF does Bush have to do with what is going on today? The drone program has expanded exponentially as reported under Obama. If nothing else there is NO report of Bush targeting US citizens as has Obama.

Remember that the Obama administration defines "militant" as any military age male within a strike zone. In other words, any adult male who is killed by a drone is automatically assumed to be a "militant." So whether these "low-level tribal militants" are actually militants, or just civilians remains to be seen.

I was reading an article that on 4/24 the Senate was conducting hearings on the drone program and the Obama administration didn't bother showing up. Can't blame them after all investigating the killing of innocent brown skinned people 1/2 a world away obviously is driven by racism. (sarcasm)

Obama 'Surprised,' 'Upset' When Anwar Al-Awlaki's Teenage Son Was Killed By U.S. Drone Strike

Hilarious nutball fantasy: The ratty little cocksucker Bush's numerous "gunwalking" programs never let any guns get into mejico.

Actual fact: From 2006 on BUSH LEAGUE GUNWALKING PROGRAMS with cool names like "operation gunrunner" and "operation wide receiver" let an unknown number of rifles and other arms into Mejico. 2nd probe surfaces in Bush-era gun trafficking to Mexico

Fact: The use of drone strikes have increased exponentially under the Obama administration

No kidding. Next thing you know the stupid fuck will lie about something to invade a sovereign nation. Obama's hero appears to be the same as yours: Junebug.

Another fact
: At least people like me have the comfort of knowing we did not elect Obama by voting for nutball scum in 2004.
