    ...And facing conviction if they showed their slack-jawed, mouth-breathing faces, members of the Westboro Baptist Church failed to show at the funeral of Staff Sgt. Joseph F. Fuerst III. A member of the 53rd Separate Infantry Brigade, he was killed in an ambush in Afghanistan.

    Members of the Freedom Guard were present at the request of the family. But weren't needed to drown out the no show, inbred freaks from Topeka. It might have had as much to do with Florida's new law banning protests at military funerals and the willingness of Florida authorites to make example of these sick sots as it did with the Freedom Guard. Either way they didn't show, and that's a good thing.

    Hats off to the Freedom Guard.
