Karl Rove: Obama 'In Desperate Shape'

Are you an idiot?

Carb said that during the same week in 2008 that McCain was up in most polls. Both of your links support that.

I'll ask the same question again but answer myself this time. Are you an idiot? Yes.

You are the idiot (like the lying Carbuncle) and you can't read the clear results showing that OBAMA, not McCain, was up, you schmuck. RealClearPolitics - Election 2008 - Ohio: McCain vs. Obama

You either don't know how to read or you don't know how to use the internet. :clap2:

Go to each state then click "See All: McCain vs. Obama Polling Data" underneath the polls at the top of the screen, scroll down to this week in 2008 and see the polls showing McCain leading most.

You are dumber than a box of liberals.

Seriously.

Carbuncle, the fraud, made a claim about THREE states in the 2008 race, then cited to ONE example. But of the three he cited, ONE of them was FLATLY contradictory to his contention.

He deliberately misled.

You can spin that any way you wish, but your idiocy is already clearly established on the record at this point.

You're still wrong, dummy. The links both Carb and YOU posted refuted what he said. There was no misleading. If I post pictures, will that help you? Reading seems to be a challenge for you.

No dope-o. You simply aren't bright, deuce.

Rove is as credible as Limpballs

The assessment -- by a hack like you -- of anybody's credibility is just a useless factoid.

Credible or not is beside the point.

The important thing is whether or not he's correct.

And President Obama does appear to be in re-election hell. His prospects are far far dimmer than his apparatchik liberal apologist propaganda media would dare to acknowledge.

Very recently a guy who happens to have some insider knowledge of how polling works shared his views. And while Dick Morris is sometimes a douche, he is also sometimes right. So the question becomes, is he right this time?

Republicans are getting depressed under an avalanche of polling suggesting that an Obama victory is in the offing. They, in fact, suggest no such thing! Here’s why:

1. All of the polling out there uses some variant of the 2008 election turnout as its model for weighting respondents and this overstates the Democratic vote by a huge margin.

* * * *

Almost all pollsters are using the 2008 turnout models in weighting their samples. Rasmussen, more accurately, uses a mixture of 2008 and 2004 turnouts in determining his sample. That’s why his data usually is better for Romney.

But polling indicates a widespread lack of enthusiasm among Obama’s core demographic support due to high unemployment, disappointment with his policies and performance, and the lack of novelty in voting for a black candidate now that he has already served as president.

If you adjust virtually any of the published polls to reflect the 2004 vote, not the 2008 vote, they show the race either tied or Romney ahead, a view much closer to reality.

* * * *

2. Almost all of the published polls show Obama getting less than 50% of the vote and less than 50% job approval. A majority of the voters either support Romney or are undecided in almost every poll.

But the fact is that the undecided vote always goes against the incumbent. In 1980 (the last time an incumbent Democrat was beaten), for example, the Gallup Poll of October 27th had Carter ahead by 45-39. Their survey on November 2nd showed Reagan catching up and leading by three points. In the actual voting, the Republican won by nine. The undecided vote broke sharply — and unanimously — for the challenger.

An undecided voter has really decided not to back the incumbent. He just won’t focus on the race until later in the game.

So, when the published poll shows Obama ahead by, say, 48-45, he’s really probably losing by 52-48!

President Obama's re-election chances are in piss poor shape.

Fact.

Say hi to Tattoo for me Mr. Roark

They said you're fucking nuts if you think democrat turnout will be 10 points greater than republican turnout on election day...

You can play fantasy island all you want, but the oversampling being done will just make you cry more when Barry loses....

This is not about Karl Rove, JimH52.

Obama has no one to blame but himself for the desperate shape he is in.

He should have learned the lesson of "just say no to new spending" on his first day.

Instead, he has engaged in overspending and spending by presidential fiat until instead of cutting the deficit in half as he promised, he spent us into oblivion to the tune of we are now well over $16 trillion in national debt according to the National Debt Clock.

Do you see why Obama has no one to blame but himself for his overspending?

Bush was NEVER elected - either time!
I'm not sure which is worse, your delusions or your confusion.

Get your blankie and rocking chair ready for November 6. That's the day Romney's landslide will clear things up for you and you will need a lot of comfort.

Rockabye, Lakie, in the treetops...
When the wind blows, Obama will flop
When the bough breaks, Obama will fall,
And down will come Lakie cradle and all.

Karl Rove: Obama 'In Desperate Shape'
Thursday, 20 Sep 2012 10:42 AM

By Greg McDonald

Political strategist Karl Rove Wednesday said recent polls show President Barack Obama in "desperate shape" in some key states he carried in 2008 and urged Republicans not to be discouraged by polls suggesting Mitt Romney has been wounded too severely by campaign missteps to recover.
"The swing state poll shows the president in desperate shape in territory he carried with ease in 2008," Rove said told Fox News' Neil Cavuto Wednesday evening, referring to a recent USA Today/Gallup poll showing Obama up by 48 percent to 46 percent over Romney.

Rove, a Fox News contributor and the founder of the Republican super PAC Crossroad GPS, said a closer look at the poll, however, indicates trouble ahead for the president in many of the 11 key battleground states when compared to a similar poll from the 2008 presidential race.

Rove noted that Obama was ahead of Sen. John McCain then with 55 percent of likely voters, according to a USA Today/Gallup poll conducted in mid-September of that campaign.

"So Mitt Romney is already running ahead of the pace of John McCain. And President Obama is running . . . over six points behind where he did in these states in 2008," Rove told Cavuto.

"It's amazing to me," Rove said, adding that he would be worried "if I were in the White House and looking at this."
Rove said the media tends to "endow" political polls "with a false scientific precision that they do not have. They do not necessarily predict the outcome of an event that`s going to take place 49 days from now."

As an example, Rove pointed to the 1980 Reagan-Carter campaign, noting that Ronald Reagan was down significantly in the polls through September and October and came back in the final days to beat President Jimmy Carter.
He said that election was similar to the one playing out now between Obama and Romney.

"People were saying, 'You know what, this guy [Carter] is so bad. We have got double-digit inflation, double-digit unemployment, we got double-digit interest rates. . . Why is Ronald Reagan losing to Jimmy Carter?'" Rove said, adding: "Everyone said, 'Oh my God, we are going to lose. And, of course, we didn't."

Karl Rove should still be in a federal penitentiary.

Some posters here seem to be confused about which candidate is in desperate shape. Obama's floor is much higher than Romney's. Obama needs less than a handful of swing states to win the election whereas Romney needs most of them.
