JUST IN: A judge has ordered former President Donald Trump and his companies to pay nearly $355 million in a ruling in the New York civil fraud case. The former president is also barred from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation or other legal entity in the state for three years. Trump is expected to appeal the decision. Read the full ruling.

The lawsuit: The judge had already found Trump is liable for fraud in the civil case, but New York Attorney General Letitia James was seeking $370 million in damages. James was also looking to bar Trump from doing business in the state, alleging that the former president, his adult sons and his company defrauded banks and insurance companies by inflating the value of Trump’s assets.

Why it matters: The case is civil, not criminal, but threatens Trump's business in New York. The trial in this case has served as a precursor to the four criminal trials Trump faces this year as he campaigns to regain the presidency.

Wow, that's a pleasant surprise! What do you think"?

The former president was also barred, under Judge Arthur Engoron’s ruling, from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation or other legal entity in New York for three years.

Trump’s two sons, Eric and Donald Jr., are also banned from serving as executives for New York companies for two years. Both were also hit with $4 million fines.

“Their complete lack of contrition and remorse borders on pathological. They are accused only of inflating asset values to make more money. The documents prove this over and over again,” the ruling states.

I wonder if he has any regrets about running for president and getting all his corruption exposed?

Nothing but demscum election interference. Go Trump.

Next stop on the Trump Express to Prison is the March 25th hush money criminal trial that New York alleges that Trump falsified business records to cover up hush money payments. Trump is facing 34 felony counts (criminal charges) relating to payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal during his 2016 presidential campaign.

Next stop is debatable.

Will it be the Georgia criminal trial about election tampering, the federal Jan 6th criminal trial in which trump is charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States, witness tampering, conspiracy against the rights of citizens, and obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding or will it be the Florida federal trial in which Trump faces a number of felony and misdemeanor charges related to classified documents?

If he handles these criminal trials in the manner he handled this trial, he will lose. You can not disrespect the judge, thumb your nose at the law and the proceedings and expect to walk away free and clear.

Corruption exposed? Really? So a bank or institution makes a commercial real estate loan without an appraisal, since when? So the loan is paid back and everyone is made whole, no loss, yet a judge decides asset values based on his extensive knowledge and rules it was fraudulent fines someone a huge penalty and everything is just. It will be interesting to see what the appellate court has to say. Yet this isn’t political? America has become nothing more than a shit show.

Guess these people never heard of the constitution. The 7th & 8th Amendments.

The Seventh Amendment provides that civil cases preserve the right to trial by jury.

The Eighth Amendment prohibits excessive bail, excessive fines, and cruel and unusual punishments.
