It's a phrase to mean he would not be getting out of jail alive. It was NOT to be taken any more literally than saying, "You just cut off your nose to spite your face"

She is saying what most in the correctional industry know; inmates despise and loathe child molesters. Their own kids are outside the prison and they cannot protect them, so they hate these pervs with a passion.

This man will be shivved within a few years time and that is a safe bet.
