Zone1 It's quite easy to see why most people end up in Hell (as Jesus said)

I think a power that can create a universe from nothing is so far above us that He is impossible for us to truly comprehend.
100% agree.

That's why Jesus had to come, so that we would have a visible, tangible GOD when the Father eludes us, as He always does.

nothing about giving up sin? Not even mortal sin like adultery, abortion.. porn, fornication? There is no Once saved always saved. It's a lie from the depths of Hell.

Go and sin no more, Jesus said
If you have Faith and accept the Grace you will strive to be the best person that you can be. But of course you will fail at it and that is why you will need Grace.

Also, good deeds won't keep you out of Hell. If that was the case then you could just buy yourself out. It doesn't work that way.

My weakness in etymology is that I decided to overlook pronunciation because I could never seem to get my mouth, lips, throat around words in most languages. As far as the etymology of Jove (sans pronunciation) is that is seems to tie into shining, bright, sky, specifically, Jupiter. Their word for deity also roots in shining and bright.
I haven't seen a thread where Jews discuss or pay much attention to Moses' strong connections to Midian and his Midianite wife and father-in-law.

While I can see a tie between Greek and Roman Gods, I do not see a clear tie between Greek/Roman Gods and Israelite/Middle Eastern Gods.
The Way They Think Is Not in the Language They Speak

You don't see the connection between Jupiter and "Jew Father"? Rather than trace any connection between the Romans and Abraham, I go back a thousand years before when the ancestors of these two groups were in the same tribe, before the pre-Jews went south to Sumeria and the pre-Romans went west along the Danube, then south into Italy.

How can anybody believe that the Jews are related to the Arabs? They are totally different, while the Jews have a lot more in common with Europeans. So logic tells us that Hebrew was not their original language.

How can

Right.. the old You don't have to give up sin... all you have to do is believe in Jesus...

That ws Luther's heresy/lie

That is one reason so many people end up in Hell... believing what they want.. believing what prominent but lying people teach them instead of relying on Christ and what He said (through His Church)

Sorry but I am a Lutheran so I disagree with the Catholic idea that if you give enough money to the church you go to Heaven.

straw man

Nothing is more misunderstood than TRUE Catholicism

(by the way: nice dodge... Protestants are always dodging Catholic arguments... they have no answer for most of it)

Ole Martin pretty well understood it and that is why he nailed his Ninety-five Theses or Disputation on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences on the door of the church and told them to cram it where the sun don't shine.

Jesus is Truth Incarnate. We can believe every Word He said (which includes all that He has said via the Bible AND via His Church throughout the centuries, which may or may not be written down in black and white but is of course true just the same)

So Jesus said that most people end up in Hell (see Mt 7:14- and Lk 13:24 and other psgs)

And I can see why. Everywhere I look today there is nothing but selfishness, snarkyness, love of $$, lack of concern for others.. everyone going against what Jesus taught. He taught us to have charity for one another, but I don't see much charity these days.

And then there's all the perversity, sick stuff being taught in our schools. It's like our society despises children, their innocence. It's like everyone is in such a hurry to steal that innocence from them.. WHY?!

Well, I think we know why.. "People loved darkness rather than the light..."

etc
They end up in hell because they don't go on the stairway to heaven.

And Luther is more reliable than the Ancient Church... how?

You follow a human being. All protestant churches are founded by humans beginning with Luther, the father of protestantism.

I am not one of these Protestants that despises Catholic. Although I do enjoy Reformation Sunday where we do put a little good nature hate on the Catholics

In fact last year my Lutheran church did a joint communion service with a Catholic congregation to show solidarity with Christ.

so you admit to hating Catholics...

well, most protestants seem to, except they wouldn't be up front about it..

Well, Jesus did say that His followers would be "hated by all"

I can't figure out why a person who loves Jesus and tries to obey Him can be so hated! I just don't get it... except that Satan rules the world (Jn 8:44?)

and so people listen to his whisperings in their ears and some act on them.. and again, Jesus said most people end up in Hell (paraphrase) so I guess that explains it

Is your reading comprehension that bad?

Reformation Sunday is the one day of the year we Lutherans celebrate separating from the Catholics, as we should because it is an important foundation of our church. There is no hate involved. Just a little smugness because we know it was the right thing to do.

We feel we are all Brothers and Sisters in Christ and that is the important thing.

Plus a fair argument to a God like the Father is that he has never experienced what it is like to be a human. The Son did.

You know it was the right thing to divide the Seamless Church?

wow... The world needs this kind of knowledge, doesn't it?

With that kind of "knowledge" we might end up with

legalized abortion
euthanasia
BLM riots
Antifa
Trump persecution via weaponization of govt

Yes, these are the kinds of things that happen when most of the world is OUTSIDE Christ's True Church

also, $6 a gallon gas prices, coming to a pump near you as long as the fake "catholic" is in charge

also, strangers over-running our country because the "I also hate Catholicism" fake president says OPEN the borders!

maybe you should re-word this.. not sure what you're saying

Knock that crap off.

I belong to the Missouri Synod, which is the very Conservative branch of the Lutheran Church.

Our congregation is very Conservative and mostly votes Republican when it comes to politics.

Voting R doesn't seem to do much good a lot of the time, does it?

The world has been taken over by seemingly demon-possessed persons... HOW did that happen?

Jesus established Christianity in the world 2000+ years ago, but we have THIS... this vile world we live in where you can't even criticize the govt anymore (SEE Trump persecution by govt agencies because he questioned the 2020 election)

As I said: Too many people in the world are OUTSIDE the Church Christ established. Most people actually HATE the Catholic Church...

And what did Jesus say about "most people"?

They end up in Hell (Mt 7, Lk 13)

God promised Noah not to completely destroy this sinful world, though He no longer actively maintains it. It's not God's job to build a perfect sinful world for the sinners. Instead, God's sole job here is to save His sheep, while His sheep are told that they don't belong here as it's still a detestable realm to God, though God promised Noah to bear with it till the Final Judgment comes. That's why Satan is referred to as the god of this world, because in a realm lacking God's active maintenance, such as a hell, the most evil and the most powerful will finally rule. Satan happens to be the one.

Yes, this is all true. I don't see what it has to do w/ what I said, but I don't believe I can argue with it (though I would have to read it twice to say that w/ certainty)
