I don't see how allowing people to keep more of their money screws anyone but the politicians.

It's because liberals have themselves convinced that their massive spending actually helps people. They know that it merely keeps people under their wing and beholden to them. They refuse to cut anything no matter how big a program fails.

They operate under the assumption that all money technically belong to government and they like to decide who gets what regardless of the effort put forth by individuals.

Taking less from some, in their eyes, is the same as giving to them. They call it greed to keep more of what you earned, but not greed for others to take what they didn't earn. Middle class gets screwed by all politicians. The answer is staying within a budget and cutting out spending that doesn't help us. Foreign aid can be cut. Congress members' benefits and pensions can be cut. There are duplicate programs for the poor and it could all be streamlined to be more cost effective and it would easier to cut down on fraud, waste and abuse. Pork spending is as bad as ever, but none of them are willing to stop that.

Instead, they increase the debt ceiling with no plans to cut back on spending. Liberals do cut military because they are anti-military for the most part but they increase spending elsewhere so we always remain in debt.

Inheritance money has already been taxed, so this is a way of taxing it a second time. It isn't about helping the wealthy or punishing others. It's about forcing government to cut spending instead of continuing to rob the people to fund their lousy programs and foolish spending.

After state, local, payroll taxes and fees rising for 30 years to make up for federal shortfalls, the nonrich are paying as much or MORE as the richest percentage wise. FYI -- Basically, with the amount of waste and fraud, every single citizen gets screwed. Our tax dollars are given away to foreign governments, used for the care and support of illegal immigrants, we build mosques on foreign soil, we supply weapons to drug lords and terrorists, we pay bribes to North Korea and Iran, we engage in senseless deadly costly wars, defense spending is out of control, we have way too many military bases on foreign soil, we give ridiculous perks and benefits to members of Congress, we bailout Wall Street, the financials, and corporate America, and we're exploring the far reaches of the universe, all on taxpayers' hard earned dollars.

The above doesn't include Medicare and Medicaid fraud and corruption, the fraud and corruption associated with the ACA, subsidies to rich farmers and big oil, and income tax evasion by hiding money off-shore. And, some large corporations pay no taxes at all ( GE ).
