The truth is that right now we need immigration, and a lot more of it. One of these days, when our population reaches 500 million or more, we may begin to realize that we need to find a way to control our population growth. In the meantime, population growth is what leads to economic growth. It always has and will continue to do so, so long as me can manage it. Since we are not having a baby boom among the American populace, we need immigration. However, we better find a way to educate those immigrants or they will just become a burden upon us, rather than an asset. And no, as much as we all might like to send 11 to 15 million Mexicans back to Mexico, it isn't going to happen. We better find a way to get them into the system and make sure they are producing and paying taxes.
