Israel refuses to distribute extra blankets to Palestinian prisoners

How are Israeli Prisoners or even Palestinian Prisoners, treated by Palestinians? Not being a smart ass, just asking a question. Look, it's a War. Stop whining. You want War? Well, then you have to accept all its ugliness. Maybe it's time for Peace? Just a thought anyway.

It is not a war. Israel occupies East Jerusalem and the West Bank and Gaza and have occupied these lands since 1967. We have a holding by a The International Court of Justice in 2004 confirming this is an Occupation under The Fourth Geneva Convention. Palestinians have sovereignty rights in the lands. Israel occupies lands in Palestine and has moved over 500000 of her residents onto occupied lands in violation of intl law. They have built illegal settlements on lands stolen from Palestinians. Over 6 million Palestinians in the a occupiedTTerritories and Israel are discriminated against and treated with unequal rights. international legal authorities call the Israeli Regime an Ap as Rte I'd Regime with respect to their treatment of the indigenous Palestinian people in Palestine.

OVER 5000 Palestinians are held as political prisoners, convicted mostly by military courts, denied basic legal rights under intl law at every step of the legal proceeding. Most are held unlawfully in prisons in Israel, these detentions are unlawful because under the fourth Geneva Convention an occupied population cannot be imprisoned outside of the occupied territories.

Palestinians hold no Israelis as prisoners.

It's a War. But again i'll ask, how are Israeli Prisoners and even Palestinian Prisoners treated by Palestinians?

Palestinians hold no Israelis prisoner.

Here, in the midst of a disaster, we see another illustration of Israel deliberately imposing hurt and hardship on Palestinian political prisoners.

Israel refuses to distribute extra blankets to Palestinian prisoners

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) --" Israeli prison administration refused a request from the Palestinian Authority to allow extra blankets and clothes for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails during the recent storm, the PA prisoners' affairs minister said on Sunday.

Issa Qaraqe told Ma'an that despite coordination between the PA, the Red Cross, and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Israeli administration of Ofer prison refused to allow hundreds of blankets prepared by the PA to be distributed to inmates."

Qaraqe said the "the Israeli prison administration did not provide prisoners with the basic requirements to protect them from the extreme cold and it is responsible for their lives during these conditions."

It has been documented for years that Israeli jails do not provide for the basic needs of Palestinian political prisoners, and according to Qaraqe the prisoners presently lack the sufficient number of blankets, clothes, or heating sources.

Qaraqe said that rainwater managed to enter a number of cells of the Palestinian prisoners and detention centers where dozens of Palestinian prisoners reside, and some detainees suffering from illnesses related to extreme cold are in need of medical care..

Palestinian Center for Prisoners' Studies said that female prisoners also suffered throughout the storm as their rooms had many leaks, and that they were not given any extra blankets or hot water despite extremely cold conditions.

Today, Ma'an reports 5,200 Palestinians held in Israeli jails as of Oct. 2013, this is according to the PA Ministry of Prisoners' Affairs.

Another 1,280 are being detained in Israeli prisons for being inside Israel without permits, according to the Maan article. (This is the first I have read of this other category of Palestinian prisoners)

Since 1967, I read that more than 650,000 Palestinians have been detained by Israel, and that this represents 20% of the total population and 40% of all males in the occupied territories.

That's right, the Palestinians don't hold any Israelis as prisoners. It is just more convenient to kill them than to hold them. There are so many people all over the world who suffer with inclement weather, but Mrs. Sherri doesn't care about these people. her main concern is Palestinian prisoners and not all these other people. Does anyone think that Mrs. Sherri cares about all the people who have been affected by natural catastrophes even if they are Muslims like the unfortunate Pakistanis who suffered through the great floods in their country not tooi long ago?

Israel is not in a war with Palestinians.

Israel carries out an Occupation of Palestine.

The UN has stated this to be the case for decades, and The International Court Of Justice confirmed it in the Advisory Opinion on The Wall in 2004, that also held Israel's separation wall between the West Bank and Israel is largely unlawful.

"The territories situated between the Green Line (see paragraph 72 above) and the former eastern boundary of Palestine under the Mandate were occupied by Israel in 1967 during the armed conflict between Israel and Jordan. Under customary international law, these were therefore occupied territories in which Israel had the status of occupying Power. Subsequent events in these territories, as described in paragraphs 75 to 77 above, have done nothing to alter this situation. All these territories (including East Jerusalem) remain occupied territories and Israel has continued to have the status of occupying Power."

None of that has relevance to anything.

The political prisoners are subjected to unlawful treatment by Israel and the issues are the violations of their rights.

Palestinians are human beings with legal rights under international law that should be respected.

It's a War. We can argue semantics, but it's still a War. If you kill and maim, you can't complain about the consequences of your actions. And that goes for both sides. It's time for a new course. It's time for Peace.

The killing statistics clearly show most people who are dying on this conflict are Palestinian and most of the ones doing the killing are Israeli.

AS I have addressed, Israel has killed close to 500 children in Palestine in the past 5 years, compared to 1 Israeli child killed by Hamas in the past 5 years. I can tell you that one child's first name, it was Daniel, he was 16 and he was killed on a bus. I cannot tell you the names of the close to 500 Palestinian children Israel killed, but can say many were unlawfully targeted , many were killed in their homes, many were killed walking to or from school, many were killed playing, som were killed with chemical weapons, some were killed waving white flags and shot by an IDF soldier in a tank.

And killing people for their religious beliefs is not pleasant either, yet this is going on in many Muslim countries, to which Mrs. Sherri closes her eyes.

How many more Palestinians and Israelis have to die before you guys figure out that Peace is the only logical way forward. If you're willing to kill and maim, you no longer hold any higher moral ground. If you decide to kill and maim, you can't complain about the consequences. And there will always be consequences. That's just the way it is.

The topic here is Israel .

And we certainly see thousands killed by Israel in Palestine because of their religious beliefs.

Every nonJew Israel kills in her Occupation of Palestine is killed for their religious beliefs, because they are not Jewish.

Zionism is all about the Jew cleansing the nonJews from the land of Palestine.

Popular resistance is nonviolent resistance to the Occupation that is being widely embraced by Palestinians. That and the BDS movement shall hopefully ultimately end the Occupation and Apartheid in Palestine, much as it did in South Africa.

You have something on your chin.

Israel is killing people for their religious beliefs? The only place the Christian population is growing in the Middle East is Israel. Strange how there are even Arabs in the IDF, but of course Mrs. Sherri closes her eyes to it. Meanwhile, I think all the readers can see is that Mrs. Sherri and gang are only obsessed with Israel on this Middle East forum and the thousands and thousands and thouands of innocent people being murdered by their friends are of no consequence to them. Over 115,000 killed in Syria alone, and this is nothing to Mrs. Sherri and gang.

Well, it isn't 'nonviolent resistance' at this point. I think you have your rose-colored glasses on. It's a War for territory. And it's been anything but 'nonviolent.' If you don't want to end up in a cold prison bed with no blanket, then stop killing and maiming. This War has gone on long enough. It's time to seriously consider Peace. And then you'll have all the warm blankets you'll ever desire.
