They have to find their own way after their experience of colonisation and dictatorship. It is a moderate islamist party and it is not known whether they will get an overall majority. We should remember that Europe had the church involved a lot when we worked out our systems of democracy. Hence you still have parties like the Christian Democrats in Germany and other countries.

The turnout has apparently been high so it looks like they have an interest in the result.
