This whole notion itself is troubling, and a little scary.
And an example of how far we've dropped our standards.

Libertarians threw Lincoln under the bus a long time ago. It is another thing that makes them look like kookburgers to 90% of the population and why they cannot win elections unless heavily watered down.

Back around 2001 I was let go from a contract and I thought it was odd that the H1-Bs were kept on, so I called my state Senator at the time, Senator Sarbanes, and I discussed my situation with one of his staffers and he said straight out that the laws were not being enforced on H1-B visas, that one of them should have been let go instead of me.

When I mentioned this to my libertarians 'friends' they regaled me with with 'pull yourself up by your own bootstraps' horse pucky.

That when when I was dis-illusioned with Libertarianism; it sounds great in the abstract, but when you look at the reality, it really sucks. Their economic arguments are of the essence of 'with your left foot in freezing water, and your right in boiling water, the average should do you well.'

Reality is much different from the abstract Utopia that will never happen.

Trump would have handled the Civil War much better than Lincoln...he would have made a better deal to allow the southern states to keep slavery for as long as they want....and that is definitely better than fighting a war just to free some filthy nigs...
