Is this app racist?

There's this app on kickstarter that provides users with info on the diversity in leadership at the companies that make the products they buy. The idea is that when shopping customers can look up this information on competing brands and use it to decide which brand to buy based on which company is doing better at appointing blacks. women, and other minorities in top positions in the company.

To me this seems like a good idea, but some have said doing this is racist. What do you think?
