Is there a double standard for prosecuting Trump but not Biden for classified documents?

Dems turn Biden-documents hearing

into 3 Stooges theater

12 Mar 2024 ~~ By James Bovard

Special Counsel Robert Hur was in the hot seat for four hours Tuesday as President Biden’s congressional allies sought to destroy him for doubting Biden’s intellect.
They had no case. And instead, they turned the event into Three Stooges-caliber theater.
Hur’s report last month concluded that Biden had “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials” — violations of federal law.
But Hur said that prosecuting him would be dicey because jurors could view Biden as an “elderly man with poor memory.”

Commentary:
Joe Biden the real life Manchurian Candidate.
While most of those “interrogating” Hur were arrogant, nobody could reach the level of presumptuous as Adam Schiff. Bravo Mr. Hur for standing up to this bully.
Democrat Neo-Marxists have for some time now created a 'Big Clown Show'.
Everyone is watching the clown show now not just we political junkies. Every day they descend further into their madness and it has gotten impossible to hide.
The Neo-Marxist and Joey BaiDung's Lawfare is transparent on their use. It's no different than the methods used by totalitarians.
They're no different than Putin regime. They just haven't got the guts to assassinate Trump.

No. Trump lied to the DoJ about having the documents, then about returning all of the documents. That's bad intent.

Trump obstructed justice. Biden cooperated fully.

You are so full of bullshit…….biden was committing felonies over his entire career by taking and keeping classified documents even when he was in the Senate. He had no ability to take the documents out of the secure locations and he kept them in multiple, insecure locations…….all felonies. Decades of crime…and likely selling access to enemies of this country.

See the special council report and testimony in front of congress….you idiot.

Among the posts he shared included insight from Andrew McCarthy, a legal analyst and columnist at National Review.

"For decades, Biden hoarded highly sensitive intelligence, including removing it from safekeeping on Capitol Hill, which senators well know they are not allowed to do. Biden, moreover, had many private locations — homes and offices — and irresponsibly spread the mounds of classified documents across them," Trump's post quoted McCarthy as saying. "It’s not like he had a single storage area, and it’s not like he made real efforts to keep his various storage locations secure — to deny access to people who were not authorized to read classified documents. Finally, Biden was so reckless and his offenses were so persistent, that he could not keep track of the classified documents he had retained."

he didnt accidentally take them home,, he took them to write a book and knew he had them the whole time,, he even allowed someone without a security clearance to read them and they deleted stuff to hide the crime,,

we dont believe you,,

That isn’t the half of it……..he had been committing felonies for decades……

Not even close. Hur testified that Biden had documents in 8 locations, and read classified documents off to his book writer. Trump had them in one location and put extra locks on the documents which the FBI has agreed to. Trump had a right to his documents, Biden never did.

There is a double standard. Democrats get off scott free, republicans get prosecuted.

Differences

I'd hardly call the Mara Lago ballroom, the public bathroom, his office, and Bedminster resort having the top secret documents in "one secure place" as Trumpers claim.

Biden's garage was secure?

It was predictable that the Dems / Socialists would make the hearings a TDS'fest of, "but... but... but what about Trump" when the hearings had nothing to do with Trump.

Of course it’s about Trump given Republicans are trying to make this about a double standard.

We know of 8 Biden snuck them off to. Why no prosecution?
If you had read the Hur report, you'd know the answer.

Biden cooperated fully with the investigation. The only reason you know of 8 locations is because he allowed complete searches by the DoJ. We have no idea how many places Trump has been hiding documents at and some reason to suspect that he had packed away some to leave the premises entirely. Trump had his documents sitting on a ballroom stage, in a bathroom, in a closet, in his desk, in another desk. We only know that because the DoJ had to get a search warrant to recover the documents after Trump lied about returning them, otherwise known as obstruction of justice, otherwise known as an aggravating factor.

There is a double standard. It was actually comical to watch the Dems / Socialists in the Hur hearing humiliating themselves by launching into really bizarre TDS rants.

If you had understood the Hur testimony, you would know that Biden wilfully stole documents to pad his book deal.

President Biden’s $8 million book deal was a likely motive behind his decision to take notebooks containing classified information when he left the White House in 2017, special counsel Robert K. Hur said.

Mr. Hur, testifying Tuesday before the House Judiciary Committee about his investigation into Mr. Biden’s possession of classified documents, described audio recordings from 2017 in which Mr. Biden admitted having classified material.

The former vice president read some of the material to his ghostwriter, who was helping him author his second memoir and did not have a security clearance, Mr. Hur said.

I read the report and you're not giving the complete story. This was but one of Hur's suppositions, with some evidence to support it and some evidence that takes away from it. For example, Biden had a lot of documents about surging troops in Afghanistan, but this is not even a topic in his book.

As for the notebooks, the DoJ has previously stated that the president is allowed to keep such notes as a diary, even though they are classified, which is what Reagan did. It wouldn't be fair to prosecute Biden for having these notebooks which the DoJ has previously defended for others.

That was a really terrible weasel.

The fact is that Biden stole documents he had no authority to have. He stole them for the purpose of padding his book deal.
