Is the Main Stream Media Burning Itself Down to Get Trump?

The legacy media is in tears, because they can't figure out how to spin this into a reason to hate Democrats.

Anyone who thinks the media is liberal is either profoundly stupid or profoundly corrupt. The media despised Clinton and lovingly tongue-bathed Trump. But then, TheParty has given orders to attack the media, and the usual Stalinist apparatchiks here aren't going to disobey an order from TheParty. After all, they never have before.

Face it, Trump fans. You backed the most corrupt and treasonous politician in US history. Everyone knows it. You've now got a choice to make. Choose Trump and open treason, or leave your cult and remain loyal to the USA.
Severe disconnect from reality.

This article asks some good questions about why the mainstream major media are sacrificing their own standards and reputations to slander our President.

Why is this happening, how do we correct it with respect to the First amendment and how do we push back against it?

Mainstream Media Burning Down Their Own House to ‘Get Trump’

The New York Times and The Washington Post have tripped over one another in the last week to get damning stories about the president on the front page.

But in so doing, they violated their own guidelines and made several serious journalistic errors.

“They know darn well that who these people are would make a big difference in how they are perceived.”

The first is the use of anonymous sources.

In the past week, The New York Times used anonymous sources in four front-page stories about President Trump. In all of these cases, the stories relied on an anonymous source for the central gist of the story. In other words, if there were no anonymous source, there would have been no story.

In March of 2016, the newspaper laid down new guidelines for using anonymous sources, a few months after the front-page article by Michael Schmidt about the San Bernardino shooting, which was based on information relayed by an anonymous source, who told the Times that the wife of the shooter, Tashfeen Maklik, had “talked openly on social media about her views on violent jihad.” She hadn’t. The story was totally wrong.

“Systemic Change Needed After Faulty News Article,” the Times public editor, Liz Spayd, wrote following the incident, and executive editor Dean Baquet referred to it as a “system failure that we have to fix.”

God bless our mainstream media. You NaziCons seem to be in a major panic. You should be...

"Major panic"? Why do we need the MSM to continue to bias the news?
And this isn't my or my fellow Americans position.
All the studies and journalism schools are alarmed at the direction and find it disheartening that fewer and fewer (you I'm sure are part of those "fewer") believe that the MSM is objective.
Now for FACTS to support my statement which is the major difference between people like me that deal with facts and people like you that deal with "guesses"!
Mainstream media in credibility collapse: In bid to destroy Trump, they have destroyed themselves!
This is by Michael Goodwin who is:
Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist Michael Goodwin has been a fixture on the New York media scene for the last 30 years. He started writing a column for the New York Daily News in May 2004 and first appeared as a guest on Lou Dobbs Tonight in 2006. Goodwin previously served as Executive Editor of the Daily News and prior to that, as its Editorial Page Editor. In 1999, he led the Editorial Board to its first Pulitzer Prize in 58 years for its successful campaign to rescue the legendary Apollo Theatre from mismanagement.

Goodwin:
I know because I was one of them. I started at the Times while the Vietnam War and civil-rights movement raged, and was full of certainty about right and wrong. My editors were, too, though in a different way. Our boss of bosses, the legendary Abe Rosenthal, knew his reporters leaned left, so he leaned right to "keep the paper straight." That meant the Times, except for the opinion pages, was scrubbed free of reporters' political views, an edict that was enforced by giving the opinion and news operations separate editors.

The church-and-state structure was one reason the Times was considered the flagship of journalism.
Those days are gone. The Times now is so out of the closet as a Clinton shill that it is giving itself permission to violate any semblance of evenhandedness in its news pages as well as its opinion pages.
A recent article by its media reporter, Jim Rutenberg, whom I know and like, began this way: "If you're a working journalist and you believe that Donald J. Trump is a demagogue playing to the nation's worst racist and nationalistic tendencies, that he cozies up to anti-American dictators and that he would be dangerous with control of the United States nuclear codes, how the heck are you supposed to cover him?"

Whoa, Nellie. The clear assumption is that many reporters see Trump that way, and it is noteworthy that no similar question is raised about Clinton, whose scandals are deserving only of "scrutiny."
Rutenberg approvingly cites a leftist journalist who calls one candidate "normal" and the other "abnormal."

It's an impossible task, and Rutenberg fails because he must.
Any reporter who agrees with Clinton about Trump has no business covering either candidate.
It's pure bias, which the Times fancies itself an expert in detecting in others, but is blissfully tolerant of its own. And with the top political editor quoted in the story as approving the one-sided coverage as necessary and deserving, the prejudice is now official policy.

It's a historic mistake and a complete break with the paper's own traditions.
Instead of dropping its standards, the Times should bend over backwards to enforce them, even while acknowledging that Trump is a rare breed.
That's the whole point of standards -- they are designed to guide decisions not just in easy cases, but in all cases, to preserve trust.
The Times, of course, is not alone in becoming unhinged over Trump, but that's also the point. It used to be unique because of its adherence to fairness.
Now its only standard is a double standard, one that it proudly confesses. Shame would be more appropriate.

The latest media outrage is driven by a Washington Post story about intelligence disclosures based on claims by anonymous sources. The Post’s big hit pieces are mainly based on anonymous sources.

Its latest hit piece runs a quote from, “a former senior U.S. official who is close to current administration officials.” That’s an anonymous source quoting hearsay from other anonymous sources.

This isn’t journalism. It’s a joke.

Last week, the Washington Post unveiled a story based on “the private accounts of more than 30 officials at the White House.” The fake news story falsely claimed that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein threatened to resign.

Did you read the entire Post story?
Here are the IMPORTANT FACTS that it included in the story BUT NOT in the headline which is all you read!
Now here is the HEADLINE which is ALL YOU READ!!!

Trump revealed highly classified information to Russian foreign minister and ambassador

Now I'm going to put this in bold so YOU CAN READ IT!!!

For almost anyone in government, discussing such matters with an adversary would be illegal. As president, Trump has broad authority to declassify government secrets, making it unlikely that his disclosures broke the law.

AGAIN... what law did Trump break?

I wonder about this more and more, as the media gets deeper into this blatant crusade of theirs.

At the moment, I don't think they're burning themselves down. I'd think that can only happen if those who aren't paying much attention, start doing so. Lefties and Righties and Indies who are paying attention probably have their opinions set, but the rest are far more concerned with the designer of Kim Kardashian's new shoes than they are with whether the American press has completely abandoned its job.

And I'm pretty sure the press knows this.

Absolutely they are. They don't care about ratings, truth, sponsors, or anything as long as they're attacking Trump 24/7.

Expect Trump to be contacting the FCC when he gets back. Something is seriously broken and needs fixed.

For one: I don't need any news outlet to tell me what to think. Just give me the facts and I'll make the decisions for myself.

That's largely how the news used to be, up until the late 90s. Whatever changed then, needs to be rolled back.

After George Bush whooped the Dem's ass twice in a row the MSM popped a gasket. They abandoned journalistic standards and ethics, they now openly try to select and elect Dem presidents using bias, lies, distortions and half truths.

They are making themselves irrelevant and don't see it or don't care the more they keep running the constant anti Trump stories based on largely on nothing but anonymous sources more and more people will just tune them out.

Trumps own words and deeds are doing him in. His tweets, his speeches and his interviews.

People aren't tuning the media out. That's why Trump's approval ratings are dropping and handing sensitive Intel to the Russians was indefensible.

The alt right media keeps trying to deflect from Trump's daily efforts to undermine his own Presidency. The guy is his own worst enemy.

You are right in one respect Trump does create some of this himself but not all as the just released Harvard media study showed. Eighty percent of the news coverage in Trump’s first 100 days was negative. “In no week did the coverage drop below 70 percent negative and it reached 90 percent negative at its peak that goes well beyond tweets, interviews, and speeches. Your assertion that people are not tuning this out because of Trumps approval rating is the same type of logic that was being applied to the polls during the election they greatly underestimated the support Trump had there is a good chance that mistake is being repeated.

EXAMPLE: There were only 3 other Americans in that meeting with Trump when he met with the Russians in the Oval office. The national security adviser H.R. McMaster, Dina Powell, Deputy National Security advisor, and Rex Tillerson, Secretary of State. He blocked American media from the meeting, and only allowed Russian media in. So which one of these people leaked it?

Analysis | Trump sharing highly classified information with Russia shows his extreme hubris
Trump reportedly revealed highly classified information to the Russians last week that the US hasn't even 'shared with our own allies'

Then the dumbass goes into a rage when the Russians tweeted out this picture. What in the hell did he expect?

When you elect a clown, the circus is going to show up.

This Trump--Russia investigation has now turned into a Criminal Investigation as of last week 05/17/2017.

Another possibility is there was no leak but the story was made up!

"private accounts of more then 30 officials"????
Do you understand how total ludicrous that statement is?
Why "30"? Wouldn't it take just 10, or 5? But why 30?
This is what most even biased MSM hacks thought ridiculous!
30???
Oh and by the way... the story was false!

Well when Trump admits two days later that he did give the Russians classified information, it's a little hard to say that the Washington Post made the story up lol

No one accused him of breaking any law dumbass. But it's clearly evident that he showed what a DUMBASS he is for doing it.

CIA chief Brenner under direct testimony stated this today during the house hearing.

"Brennan also said Trump might have broken protocol if he revealed highly classified information with the Russian foreign minister and Russian ambassador to the US in a White House meeting earlier this month."
Ex-CIA chief John Brennan: Russians contacted Trump campaign - CNNPolitics.com

There is a strict process for declassification of classified information. Why? Because you don't want to put agents lives (who are in very dangerous spots around the world)--infiltrating terrorist organizations, etc. to get beheaded. So this is why there is a process. Trump was apparently in his typical brag mode and ended up telling the Russians some things they shouldn't know. Things that our allies didn't even know.

Apparently--U.S. Intelligence had already warned Israeli intelligence not to give information to Trump.

"U.S. intelligence officials reportedly warned their Israeli counterparts to exert caution in sharing top secret information with Donald Trump’s administration for fear of it being passed to Russia and then to Moscow’s ally and Israel’s arch-enemy, Iran.

Discussions between U.S. and Israeli security services prior to Trump’s inauguration on January 20 gave rise to concerns that sensitive intelligence might exchange hands between him and the Russian government, Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported in January."

And I'm pretty sure the press knows this.
.
Mac, do you ALWAYS have to make so much sense?

lol

So much stupid in one post....
