The question is pretty much rhetorical. The 35-year-old just won the Australian Open over his biggest rival Rafael Nadal to give him a record 18 grand slam wins. Had he not beaten the 30-year-old, he would only be leading him by two grand slams. Instead, the tally is 18-14. Nadal is tied with Sampras for second all-time.

On a side note, Margaret Court is the all-time women's leader at 24, and Serena Williams is the all-time steroid infused trans leader at 23.

Difficult to say. Improvements to equipment, balls, the advent of topspin. Who was the most dominant among his contemporaries? Sampras, Djokovich, Laver, Federer, and others can be considered. No one is clearly on top, and how can you measure the top tier of each generation as a group? Maybe Mcenroe was best, but his competition was stronger, making it less likely he would totally dominate. Who knows?

All I know is that it is not satisfying to WATCH a match where most of the points are made via an unforced error after a rally of twelve groundstrokes. Borrinngg. Give me Serve & Volley any day.

Federer vs. Nadal? WGAS?

You're talking about golf?

I thought this was a forum for sports?

Maybe we should have a "Shuffle Board, Cribbage, Golf and other Old Boring Games" Forum?

:D
