Is it time we legalize and tax Prositituion?

What "spending" sanity would you think is appropriate? Because obviously the "more" revenue sources aren't keeping up.

You don't get it do you?? It won't matter if you tax 100% we still spend 150%

Its really is that simple.

Right, spending needs to be controlled, but that still won't account for the massive deficit we are currently running. Cuts alone won't fix that. Hence why this source of revenue could be beneficial. It's a win-win really.

If the married couple have an agreement, sure. That's between them though. Whether it's legalized or not won't cause someone to cheat on their spouse. If they want to cheat, they will cheat.

But we want to make it safe, legal, and rare? Like abortion?

Ummm, not sure how abortion ties in, good try though.

But yes the idea is to make it legal and safe. Rare, not so much, that's not the point. But I don't expect you to get that.

Prostitution isn't a federal crime, so it's up to the states to deal with it. It's legal in parts of Nevada. My personal opinion is that it should be licensed, taxed, and regulated.

I'm waiting for this gem to come from Revere:

"Will government give you all the sex you want?"

You're right.

What are you willing to cut?

Roll back spending to 2008 levels, just like Governor McDonnell did.

Nobody will miss it.

You constantly overlook the FACT..that the Bush administration started 2 wars, cut taxes, and kept those wars off the general budget to make it seem that the deficit was growing as fast as it was. It was on the "Emergency Supplemental Spending" stream.

That almost as onerous as keeping Veteran's benefits out of the Military Spending portion of the Budget.

Accounting tricks are the games of Conservatives...

LOL

So rolling back to 2008 levels fixes all of our budget woes?

Simple question for you. Let's say it isn't taxed, just legalized, would that be ok with you?

Still stuck on they same old thinking, what can we tax next!!

Lets make it legal so we can tax it??. We should be looking for ways to save money not more ways to get more from the people.

We don't get "more from the people" from the incarceration industry and .21 cents an hour prison labor than we would from legalizing certain activities and imposing a tax on them?

They will have to subsidize it, yes. Like all the other "rights" government tells you that you have.

Sex for pleasure isn't a right, it can be treated as a luxury which is why it makes sense to tax it as such.

Saving money is one huge part of the equation, but we still need to have money coming in from somewhere. This is an unregulated industry that could be just the potential source of cash that the country needs.

Would the "regulations" permit married people to fuck prostitutes at will?

Cause heaven knows, they wouldn't THINK of it now.

LOL

Obama is still paying for those wars, about $100M per year. The pre-Democrat congress deficits were around $400M and declining until 2007.

What do we have to show for the rest of his $1.5T annual debt?

But we would be putting the stamp of approval on it since we are regulating it, no?

Nobody ever said anything about rare in re prostitution. How about safe, legal, regulated, and unionized (health plans, Dr. inspections, dental work...).

Sex with a legalized prostitute and infidelity in marriage have nothing to do with each other. How the hell do you even make that conclusion? :cuckoo:

President Obama took the wars from that fake shoe box President Bush put them in and put in back into the General Budget.

Is it my job to "approve" of the behavior of my fellow beings if they are conducting their business or pleasure in a way that doesn't hurt anyone? I don't think it is.
