They are doing it in the Netherlands and I think if we are serious about getting our deficit fixed, this is a HUGE untapped area that could potentially generate billions.

Dutch government enforcing taxes on prostitution

    - It's a victimless crime now, legalizing it seems overdue
    - If it is regulated safety can be monitored
    - It's a potential cash cow for the country

Kiddie porn! It's like abortion. Everyone says they don't like it, but it should be legal and safe, but rare!

Still stuck on they same old thinking, what can we tax next!!

Lets make it legal so we can tax it??. We should be looking for ways to save money not more ways to get more from the people.

Saving money is one huge part of the equation, but we still need to have money coming in from somewhere. This is an unregulated industry that could be just the potential source of cash that the country needs.

there is a reason they call it the oldest profession.

You will never get rid of it.

If legalized and policed for child abuse and disease control you could tax the crap out of it and make the world safer.

Its like pot make it legal and police it then tax the shit out of it.

its the smart thing to do

    Haven't read the Constitution..have you?

Government is expensive and needs revenue. Don't like it? Somalia has a cheap government and no taxes.

Would the "regulations" permit married people to fuck prostitutes at will?

This would be the only reason I would support such a move. As far as needing MORE revenue source's ,I disagree we have plenty already, what is needed is spending sanity.

When spending was half of what it is now, in the 1990s, was the United States the same as Somalia?

Detroit has lots of taxes and more resembles Somalia.
