Is it time to repeal the Bush tax cuts?

A flat tax? Meaning a person who earns $1,000,000 pays 10% ($100,000); and another who earns $50,000 pays 10% ($5,000)?
What do you see as the long term consequences of such a tax policy?
As long as there are no exceptions or deductions, especially for "charity," a very fair tax system.

You really don't see the long term consequences of such a regressive system? Amazing!

It is neither progressive nor regressive.

Right now the truly wealthy have perverted the "charity" deduction to the point where they pay no income taxes at all, plus they CONTROL monopolies and pass control of their monopolies to each generation tax free by simply inheriting control of their phony charities.

If the charity deduction were eliminated, they would suddenly have to pay taxes for the first time, and the bulk of the taxes too. And their puppet politicians of both Parties would suddenly be wastefully spending the taxes of the wealthy, which they will surely stop immediately rather than let the politicians piss THEIR money away.

It's a win, win situation.

In reality Reagan, Bush, and Phil Gramm are responsible for the economic collapse.

Now we have to pick up the pieces.

Lets just ignore Fannie and Freddie and Government complicity and run with that. Nice try shit head. We should all just pony up our hard earned money and hand it over to bots like you so you can punish us and reward your friends. Fuck Off, Shit Head.

I say we start holding the global warming faeries to account. We need to start some drilling, Reduce energy costs, not increase them, and stop punishing the free market. Everything they touch becomes more convoluted and expensive. Nationalization is the enemy here. It is an act of war, on us. The siege is self serving, Government entrenching itself. Smile now.

More people should have stood up and said No to the Socialists in our Government. We wouldn't even be having this discussion if they had. Less Taxes on the People is always a good thing. Ridiculous and out of control spending is never a good thing.

Tax cuts + a war of choice = ridiculous economic policy. We agree, but, I never considered Bush&Co to be Socialists (IMHO there was nothing social about dick cheney).

I don't think our ridiculous economic policy was started 8 years ago by one President. This has been a systemic problem for many decades.

Of course it's not feasable if we continue to do the same thing and expect a different result. Fifty states may benefit from jobs supplied by defense contractors, but is the production and selling of weapons good for our nation or the world?
I voted for Obama because I want change, and I'd like to believe our future lies in new technologies that benefit mankind, not destroy it.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA

how's that hopey-changey thing working out for you?
Sucker

Yea...been counting my change

Not so bad under Obama.
One year ago the Stock Market had crashed and I had lost 40% of my 401K under Bush. My house had lost $50,000 under the Bush trickle down economy.

So far, my 401K has regained 70% of what it had lost and my house is back up $20,000.

Looks like a big problem for the republicans who were banking on a total economic collapse. Its going to be a long time before they regain power

You cannot "civilize" out of man what he has been born with. Homo sapiens have always made weapons and war and will ALWAYS make weapons and war. You cannot change instinct with U.N mandates, enacting laws and electing pussies as President. The only way for human instinct to change is by the process of evolution. This is where judgement comes into play. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad.

And you are going to attribute all that to Mr Obama?
If that is the case, are you going to attribute the 9.8% unemployment rate to him also? Unemployment has increased 28% since he was elected.
Or are you going to pick and choose what changes you give him credit for?

Yes and so are the American voters.
7.8% of that unemployment was brought on by your boy George. So was the recession

Afraid that once Obama plays his "are you better off than you were four years ago" card...your side is going to fold

Mr Bush isn't "my boy", but keep singing that song if it makes you feel better.
28% rise in unemployment. How many people are going to feel that they are better off?
Right now, I'm better of than I was 4 years ago, 8 years ago, 12 years ago, 16 years ago, 20 years ago, 24 years ago, 28 years aga, 32, years ago, 36 years ago. No president caused that, I did.

Eh, there is a lot that Obama will have to asnwer to in the next election, RW. Like the national debt, the Cap and Trade will be an issue in a big way....don't count your eggs before they're hatched.
