Just watched the movie last night, starring Matthew McConaughey. It's Science's version of the apocalypse. It's easier to understand if you are a quantum physicist. Just shows that the science prophets are as screwy as the bible thumpers.

Most of the population are anti-science loserterians that believe that we should die on this little planet. They've banned all discussion of space flight and nasa is in hiding.

The cow fuckers in the end can't save us and nasa sends a crew to planets! ;)

LOL NASA

but today NASA is a Federally funded Muslim outreach entity who specializes in preaching about manmade Global climate warming change

I'll never forgive Obama for doing away with moon to mars, but nasa couldn't do it anyways because some assholes don't want to raise its budget. Instead it has focused on sls which will be the biggest rocket ever...(bigger then the Saturn 5)...This will allow for longer range space flight in the future.

We have 3 "satellites" around mars, 1 around mercury, 1 around Saturn and one heading to pluto! ;) 3 rovers on the surface!!! We have found 2,000 extrasolar planets and a dozen possible habitual worlds. Nasa has become amazing at landing stuff on other worlds.

If you went to see nasa doing great things like landing on the moon and planting a moon base. Well, it is going to take a increase in budget. Lets see your party get into power and show some leadership!

Was incorrectly hyped as a pro-science movie but the science was nonsense. Had some interesting stuff, but overall it was WAY overhyped as a sciency movie.

Thing about the planet they got stuck on and 28 years elapsed was crap. Any planet with that much gravity woulda crushed the people on it. Bit about going through a rotating black hole is survivable MAJOR crap.

Yeah, they ignored the spaghetification effect, to say nothing of the fact that travelling in a space ship at hyper velocities while flying though a gravel storm around a black hole is likely the worst idea ever conceived.

Matthew McConaughey is in the movie, which is a reason not to see it in the first place...

Entire premise was flawed.

Unless things in the 'future present' are so horrendous and anything else is preferred, why would a future humanity alter their own past? Obviously, things musta worked out ok for the 'future present' that they devleoped technology of time travel and artificial wormholes. So what possible motivation would there have been for going back millenia and changing things? Doing that only changes your prsent possibly creating a paradox where by altering your own past, your own present might not come to be in which case the tech you used to change your past wouldn't exist making the change paradoxical. :)

Why didn't they just have an alien race in the story instead of a future version of humans? Red Dwarf already did the 'no aliens anyhere in the universe' thing guys. :)

Just once I'd like to see an astronaut in a film mention how that would be like flying their ship through a storm except that the sand is really made up of buckshot flying around at hundreds the time the speed of sound. I mean, what could possibly go wrong in that situation?
