How can the dollar be getting weaker and interest rates are dropping at the same time?

For almsost three years the talks has been of the Fed raising the rates and long bond bull market will come to an end.

Kirk Spano of MarketWatch was discussing this a little over two years ago.

His question is great: "But what if there is a need for almost perpetual liquidity programs while two living generations’ debts are paid off at the same time a third racks debts up?"

Trump will rack up a multi trillion debt, while the previous three generations' debts are being paid off.

No new 'normal' interest rates for maybe 15 to 20 years is the guess.

The strange world of a strong dollar and low interest rates

Jake you're not answering the question
Willie dollar is not strengthening, commodities gold, oil etc. have been edging up.
Todd it's not a matter of allowing, strong dollar=lower rates and vice versa

How can the dollar be getting weaker and interest rates are dropping at the same time?

Is that not allowed? Why not?
How can the dollar be getting weaker and interest rates are dropping at the same time?

Why would the dollar get stronger while rates are dropping?
The other way around stronger dollar lowers rates

Usually rising rates causes a currency to rise as well.

You keep saying rates determine currency strength, isn't it the other way around?

The dollar strengthened recently, why would that force a change in rates?

How recent, anyway stronger dollar lower rates, weaker dollar higher rates.
