I listened to Powerage and I think Eddy learned that album note for note.

Eddie has also said in interviews that he was a bigtime fan of Sabbath when he was blossoming as a young guitar player.

Eddie has also said in interviews that he was a bigtime fan of Sabbath when he was blossoming as a young guitar player.

Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath's guitarist) and Eddie did a joint interview. They said that they're good friends and jam a lot (with Bryan May of Queen too). Very diverse set of guitarists, but all awesome in their own way. EVH said that those are the only 2 guitarists he would ever take advice from IIRC.
