I figured out how they gamed the poll - they overweighted for Dems - 42% solid vs. 37% for solid GOP. In reality, party affiliation between the two are about equal with Independents being far more prevalent.

They always do that and Rasmussen admitted and gave a reason in one of their latest polls. "Because there are more Dems than Reps"

Huh? So what? If one WANTS an honest reflection of what Dems or Reps think, poll equal.

Poll 60% Dems to 40% Reps, wtf would one expect for a result? What they WANT for a result is what.

...and yet, liberals only account for 25% of the total population in the U.S.

Less than that.....They're not even half of the people who show up to vote, which itself is around 50% of those eligible.

That will yield a result of 50/50

You take a random poll and let the chips fall where they may

That's not how proper poling is done. The sample should be statistically accurate for the voting pool. Otherwise, the poll would be as accurate as Drudge's clickbait ones.

You poll randomly. During the course of the poll, you will ask political affiliation. If it turns out that it is 60/40 then that reflects the population.

Some polls are weighted to compensate for the demographics of the population. Not always strictly Dem/Republican

One poll on Trump favoritism was done by a far left lesbian living in DC, she polled a whole 1000 people, BY HERSELF. What was her ratio and whom were they? There were some on this board repeated those results over and over in the same threads. Like I said, polls are worthless.
