In spite of his "experience", why Newt Gingrich is unelectable:

Newt Gingrich is being touted as the "elder statesmen".

A man with decades of political experience who once before challenged a popular Democratic president.

A man who understands the way government works.

A man who knows how to talk to a wacky base.

A man who, even though he has a gay sister, is anti gay rights (probably a plus for most Republicans).

A man who has clear positions on foreign policy.

Newt Gingrich is unelectable. But not for the following reasons:

84 charges of ethics violations.

Having an affair and going after Clinton for the same thing at the same time.

His anti poor stance.

His anti education stance.

None of these matter.

The single thing is the fact that twice, he left his wife for a much younger women. For many women in the Republican Party, this is terrifying. When his first wife was hit with divorce papers, she said it came as a "complete surprise". This poor women was blindsided. She was, by all accounts, a good women and a good mother. And then she was just "cast aside". The second wife was in the hospital when she was served with divorce papers. In both cases, he married some kind of secretary. This would become a campaign issues and Republican women won't accept it. You can bet your Confederate Flag on it.

Well, besides repeating a lot of falsehoods about Gingrich's personal life, so what?

Personally, I still think this will come down to Perry and Romney, because they have the money and organization.

So what? That's a man's perspective. I saw the same thing just now on Morning Joe. Leaving your wife for a much younger women is the fear of many, many women. Especially for those on the conservative side who are supposed to be "taken care of" and "subservient" by and to their husbands. Newt has moved on to a much younger women, "twice". And in a callous and awful manner. Conservative men see nothing wrong. It's a non issue. Many may even admire him for doing what they wish they could do. For conservative women, it's a whole other ball game. They not only don't like it. It scares them.

LOL But you will elect a criminal guilty of accessory to murder, conspiracy to defraud the government etc etc etc.

This seems so in order. :fu:

As a liberal man (which is really, an oxymoron, when you think about it), I think you are the last person to speak to what "conservative women" feel.

The thing is, both of Gingrich's divorces were mutually agreed upon. He didn't serve anyone with divorce papers in a cancer ward. Even his own daughter has refuted that claim.

Sometimes, marriages just don't work, and it's best for all involved if they end. Some people just shouldn't get married at all.

No one is planning to marry Gingrich, we just want him to fix what Obamasky has messed up.

I don't know about the first one, but the second wife who was sick asked for a divorce. She was quite ill and it was decided that he would take the active role. It won't stop democrats from lying, and there are a lot of republicans who get led around by a democrat ring in their nose. Especially if democrats are successful in portraying the lie as coming from republicans.

Regardless of how little you know of Newt Gingrich's personal life (you only hear what the media decides to tell you) I'm not sure where you get that conservative women are supposed to be taken care of or subservient. That couldn't be farther from the truth. In fact it seems the only subservient "taken care of" women I see are those on the democrat side. They need to be taken care of by their party and put their party before anything else, like the truth and morals. They truly are subservient to the democrat party. All the women on the conservative side speak out and are shredded by the left and the media for not being subservient and knowing their place. So sad that democrats think so little of women.

anybody but obama anybody

That's why you'll lose.

No one ever won an election voting against somebody, they won it voting for somebody.

I know I am against Obama, but I haven't really seen anyone I'm for yet. I kind of like Perry but he's been lame. Gingrich is smart, but the OP has a point, he has baggage. Cain is a loose cannon. Romney is a Weird Mormon Robot. Bachmann and Paul are nuts. Huntsman and Santorum... are they still in this?

Seriously, out of millions of registered Republicans, these were the best 8 people we could come up with?

Except that was the theme Obama and the democrats used. Anybody but bush.

Really? It worked well for Obama. That was the ONLY thing he had going for him.

You leftist dipshits elected a man who sat in a church that damned America for 20 years. A man who thought there were 57 states in America. A man who had NO executive experience, only experienced to organize the criminal community group, Acorn. A man who literally has NO PAST, no former classmates, girlfriends, acquaintances. A man who had strong ties to a terrorist named William Ayers.. and I could go on and on and yet here you pathetic losers sit whining over Newt's affair. You're fucking nuts, looney tunes.. you can kick, scream, whine.. but in the end, liberalism is out, PERIOD. American's don't trust a single one of you morons and for good reason.. you're all a bunch of socialists hell bent on destroying the fabric of America, capitalism, and sowing the seeds of division, hatred. November 12th is on the horizon. Good riddance.

Bush wasn't running in 2008.

In 2004 that was the Democrats attitude. And they lost. Thank you so much for making my point.

Really? Obama sure used Bush's name a lot when running. And then as President for 2 years. Now he just says inherited without using Bush's name.
