Oak Park, IL.
I went to Yellowstone National Park over New Years.
It's one place you should see in winter.
The ride into the park was a mini tour.
There were stops as a few waterfalls.
We stopped for wildlife views.
It was very nice.

I had a little pioneer cabin away from the Snow Lodge.
There's 2 queen size beds, a table with chairs, a sink, a bathroom and free coffee and tea.
There's not much to it.
From the cabin there's a view of an open field.
From the doorway, I could see down to the Lodge.
The Visitor's Center and Old Faithful were about 1/4 mile away.

The winter can be cold, but once you get moving you warm up to it.
Over 2 days I hiked to Biscuit and Black Sand Basins.
On the 2nd of January I took a tour to Canyon of the Yellowstone.

For a total of $600.00 it was well worth 4 days.
There couldn't have been more than 50 people.
At midnight I was out by the fire pit with a small group of people.

If you like peaceful quiet time to relax and sights to knock your socks off, visit Yellowstone in winter.

Vegas March 20-26 2013:

Spirit Airlines was a pleasure.
None of the horror story scenarios that you can read at travel related sites took place.
I had plenty of leg room, the flights were on time and I was ready for a big hassle.
The one thing you need to know is that they will charge you for your carry on if it's 21" or larger so pack light.

I was there to bet the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament.
All the teams I picked were projected to be 65% winners and up.
The flaw I had was I went in to bet 8 to 10 team parlays.
I only had $400.00 and was hoping to catch 1 or 2 $4000.00 winners.
I could have bet single teams, but at -1100 on the money line, my 400 would have won me $36.00. On the -850 money line team, I was looking at $80.00.
So I played parlays.
After the 1st day I still have most of my parlays still alive.
It was the 2nd seed Georgetown that killed off the rest.
My sister won $4000.00 on the 1st two days playing $30.00 slots
$300.00 worth of food and a show were free.
I also got a free hoodie.
4 of the 6 nights were also free with Fri and Sat costing $140.00 total.

I did manage to play about 5 hands of blackjack and about 8 spins of the roulette wheel which amounted to about a $125.00 win.
I also played Mississippi Stud and never caught a pocket pair.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday, my sister and I went to Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire State Park and Zion National Park. Three more sweet places to see. At Zion there's a lodge and I'm looking into staying there this November when I go back to Vegas for some serious blackjack action with a 2k bankroll and 50 bucks per hand at a 2 deck table. The rate is $220 per night.

We stayed at the Rio and our view was pretty nice overlooking the pool.
I can't recall any hassles, problems or complaints.
The room had a fridge so there was always something cool to drink.
Parking was easy and the rooms have been upgraded with new flat screen TVs.
For a total of $800.00, it was a great weeks vacation.
I'll be back there November. The week before Thanksgiving.
This time it's for real!
