I suspect there'd be ten threads about it by now.

So how about one? Conservative campus INTOLERANCE in the form of Conservative PC!

Liberty University booted an anti-Trump Christian author from campus

"Liberty University, the evangelical Christian college founded by the late political firebrand and Moral Majority leader Jerry Falwell, removed visiting anti-Trump evangelical author Jonathan Martin from its campus and its president announced he would be permanently barred.

Martin, a longtime critic of Liberty University’s close association with the Trump administration, was visiting the Lynchburg, Virginia, campus earlier this week as a guest of Johnnyswim, a band that was performing on campus, and had planned to host a prayer meeting with like-minded students the following morning. Instead, Martin told Vox, armed security guards escorted him out of the backstage area following the show...."

...we all know the standard defenses that conservatives will use for this, so, hey, how about at least a couple of you come up with some novel ones?

We all know huh? You realize that's code for you're insecure? Could mean you're dumb, but more likely insecure.

I referred to common knowledge dumbass.

And in what should be no surpise, you see that the RWnuts have no objection to conservative intolerance on campus.
Remember that the next time they throw a spitty tantrum over something like a Milo or Ann Coulter incident, on a so-called liberal campus.

Apples and oranges as usual with libs.

The speaker is renown for his criticisms of the university and leadership as well. It's kind of like the KKK guy going to speak at an NAACP event. According to your article, this clown bashes the university all the time on Facebook. And then there is this:

In a statement emailed to Vox, Liberty defended expelling Martin on the grounds that as someone unaffiliated with the university, he had not gone through the proper procedures necessary for protest on campus. “While University community members can freely make arrangements for their events, those who are not members of the University community have a higher burden to be granted access to Liberty University’s facilities for their private purposes,” the statement read.

The statement suggested that Martin’s act was a publicity plot: “It may be possible that Jonathan Martin knew his unauthorized event would ultimately not be permitted to occur on the private property of Liberty University but he simply hoped to garner more attention to his cause by having his efforts stopped. So be it. ...

So it's less political than it is religious. It's not the same thing as when Republican speakers are stopped.

And yet, the official explanation is not quite as you say:

"In a lengthy statement, Liberty University said the university welcomes "peaceful debate," and that Martin was removed because officials believed he intended to hold an unauthorized event on campus. The statement said he did not follow protocols for campus events, that such events require advance notice and authorization and that he was seeking publicity."

It's really not apples & oranges tho.

Either let everyone have their opinions/say or ban all free thought/speech on campuses.

If someone violates the code of conduct then give them das boot.

It’s a lie, of course, when conservatives claim that ‘liberal’ colleges are engaging in ‘intolerance.’

Colleges and universities take no issue with a conservative speaker expressing his ignorance, bigotry, and hate.

And in what should be no surpise, you see that the RWnuts have no objection to conservative intolerance on campus.
Remember that the next time they throw a spitty tantrum over something like a Milo or Ann Coulter incident, on a so-called liberal campus.
If a Milo or Ann Coulter event is canceled it’s because of the violence practiced by conservative supporters of hateful, bigoted rhetoric, not because of the content of the hate speech.

Maybe they would have if he only went through the proper channels. But according to the article, he didn't. He just decided to barge in and do as he pleases. You can't do that anywhere, I don't care if you're liberal or conservative. If you want to speak somewhere, make the proper arrangements. That's all.

The only "defense' for Liberty U. is that it is NOT really a place for independent learning (just like FOX is NO news outlet)........Liberty U. is just a venue to mold evangelical, semi-racist, right wing, young proponents.....with a dubious degree.

And what does that have to do with the principle of INTOLERANCE?

lol btw this is one of the defenses I predicted in the OP.

Liberty University's website states that the school is "committed to Training Champions for Christ."

Just like most Islamic universities promote students to be "champions for Mohammed."

The argument HAS ALWAYS revolved around the First Amendment. A public University that takes government money is subject to the First and therefore it is illegal for the university administration to quash speech they don't like. A private university is just that. Private and they can do as they please, just as a business is free to set rules on speech. If you weren't so ignorant, you'd know that.

As for intolerance, the real culprits are the progressives and their hatred of anything not conforming to their worldview.

Others in this thread have already pointed out that the university in question stopped the speech not out of intolerance, but because the forms have not been adhered too.

So, your reply to Me is wrong on two fronts, not surprising really. Wrong is your standard mode of operation.

So you don't really oppose intolerance.

btw, Liberty University takes a TON of government money in the form of student tuition assistance.
