in war games simulating great-power conflict in which the United States fights Russia and China, the United States gets its ass handed to it.

If a war broke out between the United States and China, the clash between two of the world’s most powerful militaries would be horrific. And the United States could very well lose.

The question is what could actually cause the United States to fight China. What if China invades and occupies Taiwan, a democratic US partner and arms customer? Would America actually risk World War III? What if China forces its claim to the Senkaku Islands, which the United States considers to belong to Japan? Does that fall within America’s treaty commitments to defend its ally?

The Chinese don’t have to comprehensively defeat the United States militarily in order to achieve their near-term objectives

1.) That will never happen because it's not profitable and neither side would gain. The globalist business elites that own our politicians and the world will never allow it.

2.) If you think we would lose that fight you severely underestimate the strength of our military.

So you would bet against America. That pretty well sums you up.

you are all over the place here. First it is a "we cant beat them in a war" and then it is a 'they do not need a war to achieve their goals".

Which is it?

In an actual war China has nothing over us but sheer numbers, which in this day and age is fairly meaningless. We have the far superior navy and air force. They would could not beat us in an actual war.

But they have no desire for a war, they plan to dominate economically, not with their military.

In a war between super-powers there can be no winner only mutually assured destruction.

If there was a war between China and US, the US military would "wipe China off the map".
China maybe a huge country. But their military isn't as powerful as you may even think.

The United States would never directly take on China itself and would unleash Japan on China...

i dont want america to lose.

i'm just being realistic. so as to warn us not to go to war

Direct attack between China and the United States of America will never happen.

What would happen is the two countries would unleash one of their puppet regimes at each other like North Korea and South Korea and then Japan jumps in.

Today wars are about using smaller countries to fight for us...

Also China with Russia blessing would just flood our border with drugs and illegals to hamper our ability to go to war...

most wars [ especially only 2 country wars ] are not total wars ..it would usually be confined to a certain area
...they usually end with no ''clear'' winner
...a lot of people thought SURELY there would be war between Russia and the US during the ''Cold'' War ----but there wasn't
....the only way there would be a ''''loser''/'''winner''' [ haha ] would be the use of nukes--because both countries are not going to invade the other/etc

The sad fact is that most of the democrat Party would take sides with China and Putin against Trump and our USA

The US hasn't won a war since WWII, and even then, we needed a ton of help. And had to use nukes.

China couldn't put its troops effectively on US soil unless they went just to Alaska. The US wouldn't invade China because we don't have the troops for it and it would be easier just to shock and awe them.

Exactly.

China is an economic threat only. That's why we should be investing in science and young people.
Also a cyber threat... shutting down our electric grids, wiping out a satellite, stealing our technology, hacking our top secrets, rigging our elections... that kind of stuff.... which is the way of our new wars, imo...

And in that aspect, we are weak, and need to strengthen our infrastructures and cyber vulnerabilities.
