If Obama loses

And yet it is the liberals that pass laws to restrict choices and control people, for their own good, of course. Remind me who runs California? And it aint the RHINO that is Governor. Then remind us how freedom loving that place is, banning trans fat and LA banning new construction of Fast food joints for the GOOD of the people.

Some will be voting for McCain, why? Because they are not brain dead liberals that do not understand wars can be for a good purpose. That you think everyone that has ever lost a loved one in a war is going to vote for a party that wants to cut and run is further evidence of where YOUR political compass is.

Just keep telling yourself that Gynnie; your'e in the minority now!Tales from the Trail Blog Archive American troops put their money on Obama | Blogs | Reuters.com:eusa_whistle:

What about those who still have loved ones in Iraq? Would they vote for a party who will keep them there for another 4, possibly 8 years?

I'm willing to bet that if you have a loved one in Iraq now, he/she will not be there 8 years from now---just a hunch.

very stark reminders of the price being paid for these wars.

Now compare that to all the past wars, their cost in life, their cost in money. Gee doesn't look so bad then does it?

We have lost to terrorism if you turds think 4000 dead in 5 years is to steep a price to pay. Lets just surrender now and ask Muslim extremists and any other terror group in the future what we must do to appease them.

Forget about enforcing any treaties we have, that might cause a war and people might die. Lets disband our military and just do what ever we are told by whom ever to avoid any of that pesky fighting business and our freedom.

We have lost to terrorism if you turds

why do you over react to my simple posts....are those not stark reminders.....4000 men/women dead. or do you pretend its a meaningless stat?

Kirk and Bones,

As you can see, the retired sarg has no empathy for the slaughter of american solidiers. If we stayed in Iraq for 100 years, as John McCain proposes, he wouldn't care how many american soldiers were killed. It would always be "better" than World War 2 or the Civil War.

What Cons like him really only alleged care about is money, specifically the expenditure of tax money.

I suggest pointing out that Iraq is going to be the most expensive war in US history, outside of world war 2.

And what did we get for this massive, nearly unprecedented expenditure of the US Treasury? Well, we didn't find WMD, we didn't find alliances between Saddam and Al Qaeda, and we managed to replace a fiercely anti-Iranian secular Sunni dictatorship, with a corrupt Shia government that is sympathetic to Iran.

Money wisely spent.

Oh what parisan bullshit, they BOTH do.

RGS, your initial post indicates that your true fear is that Obama won't lose. You want him to lose, you hope he'll lose and you'll vote for him to lose but you know deep down that there is a movement happening in this country and that movement is for change and it terrifies you to your core.

I'm a liberal but I'm also realistic. Obama might lose. It might be in part because people aren't ready for a black President. you denying that won't change the facts. My own sister said she wouldn't vote for him simply because he's black so don't tell me there aren't people out there voting based on racsim. Others aren't voting for him because they don't feel he's experienced enough or because they disagree with his ideas and plans. A lose will still be a lose no matter the reason and it would be a sad day for those of us hungry for a new direction.

But Obama might win too. What will you do then? You're so sure that he'll socialize this country but you never talk about what you'll do if he wins. Will you cry and wring your hands and threaten to move before he turns this country into a socialist commie (can you be a socialist and a commie at the same time?) nation? Or will you, like liberals who have had to suck it up for the last 8 years, go on with your life and hope for the best?

Here is the reality...my life will remain virtually unchanged regardless of who wins. I am a single mother so I get a nice tax creditfor my child and I'm the head of my household so there is another tax credit I get. I get a nice return every year. I live in a nice house, in a nice neighborhood and while I don't make as much money as I'd like I make enough to pay my bills and I have great health insurance through my employer.

I have no complaints about my personal situation so honestly my fight for change isn't for me. It is for those who aren't as fortunate as I am. Those who haven't had the opportunities or the education that I've had. Those who have to choose between getting food and getting their prescriptions filled. Those who start to worry towards the middle of a pay period if their gas tank is getting low and they know they don't have money to fill up their car. Those who worry about violence in their neighborhoods or in their own homes.

I worry for my daughter's future. What world are we leaving behind for these children? One of waste and war? That is not what I want her inheriting from my generation. Every generation should want to leave this world better than they received it and that is not the reality for those children who will turn 18 in the next four years. What about the 15 year old boy who could very well be drafted into a war that started when he was 9 or 10? and let's be honest, if we have no plan to exist Iraq and we get into a war with Iran or Russia a draft is coming. Is that really fair to him? I don't think it is. So that is what I am fighting for.

So you can laugh it up if Obama loses. But the future of this country is no laughing matter and those of us fighting for change love this country just as much as those of you who want things to remain the same, we're just not willing to accept the unacceptable anymore.

If Obama loses, it will be in small part because of ethical stances like this:

Sen. John McCain today issued some of his strongest criticism of President Bush over an aggressive interrogation technique, clearly suggesting that the president has endorsed torture.

During an assessment of the Bush presidency on "Fox News Sunday," McCain discussed the administration's use over "waterboarding," a technique that has been used to interrogate terrorist detainees.

"Waterboarding to me is torture, okay? And waterboarding was advocated by the administration, and according to a published report, was used," McCain said. "I obviously don't want to torture any prisoners."

which is the sort of stuff that used to inspire me about McCain. He's lost my support but I am glad he still says that waterboarding is not OK.

It's a horse race.

I don't understand Cali, how can Obama lose because of McCain's statement? are you insinuating that Obama is FOR waterboarding?

I will be laughing it up the day after the election watching you liberals all wring your hands, threaten to move, demand a recount and claim the Republicans cheated, all the while explaining he lost cause everyone is a racist except Obama.

I have something to look forward too. I figured with McCain as the choice I was gonna dread election day, but is all gonna be great if he wins LOL.

I won't be wringing my hands, threatening to move, demanding a recount, or even suggest that Obama lost because people are racist. I will be a little bit surprised and disappointed but I will still consider America to likely be the great nation still. I will probably vote for Obama but I will remain here and regognize McCain as our leader if he is elected as such. Life will go on.

How devastated will you be if Obama wins? Would any of the actions that you mentioned apply to you?

Of course not. McCain used to be principled. He used to take honorable stands. It is a good thing when he speaks out about waterboarding. Imagine if Giuliani or Romney were the candidate.

People should vote on the issues. If torture is one of many issues, then people should know where McCain stands on it. Hopefully he will take a stand for the right thing on Guantanamo, FISA, and all the other things that undercut the 'self evident truths' that America is supposed to stand for.

Whether we as a country torture other human beings or not, is way more important to me than a lot of the hoopla that people discuss on message boards like gun ownership.

If Obama loses, it will be in part because McCain has some sense in his head.

If Obama loses provided that McCain and Palin have not totally trashed the country. The next race for the White House would be Hillary v Palin and Hillary wins in a cake walk. I don't think McCain will serve more than one term if he does win.

Well if McCain's voting record is any indication I don't see him as having much sense at all.

he voted No to the right of Habes Corpus for Detainees of the US

He voted Y in favor of FISA

He voted NO to funding for training of firefighters and first responders, and a pay raise of our active-duty military personnel

He vote no on an amendment to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation

He voted no on an the Unintended Pregnancy amendement which would've provided funding for education and prevention of teen pregnancy

He voted no on the Expressing Support for All Men & Women in the U.S. Armed forces which would've opposed comments that criticize the honor, integrity and patriotism of individuals serving or having served HONORABLY in the U.S. Armed Forces.

he voted no for a minimum wage increase

His voting record speaks for itself IMO.
