Actually, the Confederate Flag needs to go because it is a symbol.

It's symbol of how poor white people were dumb enough to fight for the interests of rich people.

Fun Fact. Even when the South was desperate for manpower, owners of 20 or more slaves were EXEMPTED from Military Service.

In short, you had a bunch of poor people fighting for the perks of rich people.

That is something southerners should be PROFOUNDLY embarrassed by today.

And it shouldn't have taken until 2015 to figure that out.

The South has a moment here to rejoin the union.

Finally.

And it looks like most do in fact want to move on. All brought on by the families of 9 people who not only go to church, but actually live as Jesus Christ says they should live. With forgiveness as their highest calling.

I'm an agnostic but its clear the power of the faith of these people is driving an entire nation to see them not as black people, but as people.

What an idea.
