I want one Obama supporter to Explain why he CUT over $700 Billion from Medicare?

obama's plan is that the entirety of medicare would be folded into obamacare and no longer exist.

FACT CHECK: Obama, Ryan, Romney Backed Medicare Cuts - ABC News

One way or another, Barack Obama, Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney all have supported the $700 billion in cuts to Medicare spending now in place under the Affordable Care Act.

But you wouldn’t know that by listening to the current debate.

The Romney-Ryan campaign in its latest TV ad assails Obama for approving the cuts in 2010. “Obama has cut $716 billion dollars from Medicare,” says the narrator. “The money you paid for your guaranteed health care…is going to a massive new government program that’s not for you.”

Voters might be left with the impression that Romney and Ryan have both opposed the cuts. The truth is that Ryan himself endorses them in his signature budget plan – the same plan Romney has said he would sign as president if it reached his desk.

they agreed with Obama

You need to face the music and call O out for being the hypocrite that he is. O cut medicare and is trying to place blame.

I'm no expert on the Health Care law but I believe cutting 700 billion in fraud and waste from the trillions of Medical Care Corporations is better than the Ryan Plan to cut 700+ billion from the payments to the elderly.

When did this cutting of "fraud and waste" take place?

Where did Paul Ryan propose cutting 700 billion from payments to the elderly?

Additionally, Romney / Ryan are not talking about implementing the original House plan - they are talking about the Romney plan.

TM knows that, but is forced to dishonestly misrepresent it.

They reduce reimbursement rates for all who provide services to Medicare patients, regardless of how well or badly they treat their patients. Among the cuts is a $156 billion reduction in payments to Medicare Advantage plans over ten years. These cuts will force seniors to pay $3,700 more for their health care by 2017

the cuts will drive some 4 million seniors out of Medicare Advantage plans between 2012 and 2018.

Further, the Medicare cuts in Obamacare would slash payment rates for hospitals, so much so that the chief actuary of the program has warned repeatedly that the cuts will jeopardize access to care for seniors. He has estimated that if the cuts go into effect, 15 percent of hospitals and nursing homes will have to stop taking Medicare patients to avoid the large financial losses that result from getting paid at Medicare rates. By 2030, some 25 percent of these institutions would need to drop out of the Medicare program.

Yep sounds like Obama's 700 billion dollar cuts in medicare makes everything perfect.

Medicare's Chief Actuary: Sorry, ObamaCare's Medicare Reforms Probably Aren't Viable in the Long Term - Hit & Run : Reason.com

Everyone quit pretending that Obama's cuts are good but Ryan's potential cuts are baaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

So you want the government subsidies of the private sector Medicare Advantage plans to continue, despite the fact that these private sector plans are supposed to COMPETE with Medicare?

Where do you save money then? Medicare's insolvency projection is 2016 without the reforms of the ACA.

It goes tits up with the reforms...

Damn must you guys lie about every subject...

What fucking low life..............

Pay attention. Before ACA, the projected insolvency of Medicare was 2016.

Do you dispute that?

Americans are waking to the fact that the Romney plan saves Medicare, while the Obama plan bankrupts it.

The Romney/Ryan plan will bankrupt Medicare and here's how:

1. Romney repeals ACA, that puts the Medicare insolvency date at 2016.

2. Romney/Ryan, so they claim, doesn't affect anyone 55 or younger; that means that Medicare AS/IS will continue for 10 more years.

3. In 10 years, before Romney/Ryan saves anything, Medicare will be 6 years past its insolvency date.

When Romney, if president, repeals Obamacare on day one, as he has promised,

the insolvency date of Medicare falls back to 2016
- thus WITHIN THE ROMNEY PRESIDENCY.

Do you think he's going to push that date out, assuming he does, without 'cutting Medicare'???

How???

You make the assumption Romney / Ryan are not going to reform Medicare.

It is one of their primary planks.

Fail.

They INSIST and they have made it a centerpiece of their Medicare position, that they WILL NOT TOUCH Medicare for anyone 55 and over.

That means the current program runs for 10 more years, 6 years past the insolvency date.

Do you, for once, have a substantive rebuttal to that?

Is any of that what I asked? Nope..I asked a simple question of Obama supporters...why did HE do it?

Cutting "waste and fraud" is one thing...Obama cut real money to the program...that is not the same thing as getting rid of waste and fraud.

I want to know why he took $700+ billion from the program?

Ah..so he is going to CUT payments to health care providers? They are evil folks too?

and in cutting their pay he expects the same or even greater availability of services to take place? Really? This is his logic?

Again, keep in mind the baby boomers are coming.......more people in the system, fewer dollars going to the people who are supposed to care for our elderly..and this is a good thing?

The insolvency date for Medicare BEFORE OBAMACARE was 2016.

How does the Romney/Ryan plan avoid that insolvency deadline if they aren't going to touch Medicare for TEN YEARS?????

It is absurd to argue that restoring Obama's $700 in Medicare cuts makes it less solvent.

Increasing the program's expenditures will deplete the trust fund more quickly.

NYc is correct. Ryan's budget preserved the ACA's restraints on spending growth (though probably not the mechanisms that make them possible) as a bridge to get to the launch date of his reforms in the early 2020s. That's the only way he could argue that his reforms don't affect current seniors.

Romney, recognizing the hypocrisy in attacking Obama for the same spending growth restraints that the GOP voted for twice in their budgets, now says he'll allow spending to grow more quickly than Obama or Ryan.

Well, that's great. But that means the trust fund runs out of money before his voucher program can launch. Several years earlier, in fact. Meaning he's lying, either about his reforms not affecting current or soon-to-be Medicare beneficiaries, or he intends to preserve the ACA's "cuts."

Your best is failure. LOL

'Medicare is still on track to be insolvent in 2024 — the same as last year’s findings — a point that both parties are using to prep their campaign attack lines.

The Medicare trustees said in their annual report Monday that they expect the rate of spending growth to pick up from its historic lows — spending that will be offset by cuts called for in the sequester. The hospital insurance trust fund, for Medicare Part A, would go broke in 2024. Some money would still come in from payroll taxes but not enough to cover all the bills.'

No change in Medicare?s solvency date, report says - J. Lester Feder and Jennifer Haberkorn - POLITICO.com

LOL

Which proves my point.

If they don't touch Medicare benefits for anyone for the next 10 years, then Medicare has to run as is for the next 10 years, there are no savings,

and the insolvency date of 2016 gets hit in 4 years.

A 55 year old doesn't get Medicare for another 10 years. He will then get the current Medicare, he and everyone 55 and older. That means no Medicare savings under Ryan until the 54 year old turns 65, which is 10 years from now.

...under the ACA's reforms.

Which Romney is supposed to be repealing, no?

Meaning you need to go to pre-ACA estimates of insolvency. Which are a few years from now, as NYc has pointed out.

At least we finally have the Libtards admitting that Obama has gutted Medicare for %700+ billion.
