Strangely enough, this madness became much easier to live with when I finally accepted the fact that this is just what America IS now. Either I didn't see it or I didn't WANT to see it, but clearly a LARGE part of this country is susceptible to falling prey to a celebrity con man.

And, when you think about it, look at how celebrity (not ability or decency or talent or intelligence, just pure, shallow celebrity) drives this country. Popular culture is that way, and now it has fully polluted our politics. So I guess this shouldn't be a big surprise.

Thank you, poster Lahkota, for post #16....with it's full 89-minute video of Don Trump's Dayton speech on Saturday (I think).

I haven't listened to a full speech of his since he did the one in Dalton GA just prior to the 2020 election. The Georgia speech that did zero to help the two Republican incumbent Senators maintain their seats.

And, in truth, at this writing I didn't listen to all of the Dayton speech. I listened to 60-minutes of it. I will get back later and listen to the remaining 29 minutes.

Don Trump, in this public proclamation has only confirmed my skepticism of his ability and his character.

Now, being built as an optimist, I will hold out hope that those last 29-minutes I haven't watched yet may.....may......show him to be a better man and a better leader.

I'll let y'all know when I finish it.
