I have a question on the Subsidy with Obama care?

That is not true. Why post when you do not know what you are talking about? Is it fun?

What part is not true this is now what I have. I use to go to the doctor and just pay 20.00 and meds were 7.00 before Obamacare. so what is not true?

You get lots of medical services covered prior to meeting the deductible.

You had insurance before? What was the plan name?

oh like what service
yes had good insurance before

You really don't know? You have it, but you cannot answer that question?

Very odd.

Does anyone know how the healthcare subsidy will work? I was under the impression that it will be reconciled as a tax credit should the individual or family qualify for a subsidy. Then I heard that the feds will directly pay the subsidy based on the previous year 1040 tax report. Then I heard that the insurance companies will bill the US Treasury for any subsidy that can be applied to the premium. Is this confusing or what??!!

All I know is it will be done through your taxes.
And if your income turns out higher than earlier estimated you could be required to pay back.

I don't think this headache is worth it.
At the point people need to be insured, I would recommend paying for Medi-Shares
instead at 300 a month.

And organize a class action lawsuit to make the govt pay the full 300/month cost.

if it is mandated federally it should cover all people and be fully covered.

So everyone should be able to be insured at 100 to 300 a month and this should
be tax deductible if it is required by federal govt.

We did not agree to a new tax bill, this was supposed to be health care reform.
so if everyone is required to be under it, it should cover everyone equally
to be constitutional. otherwise it is biased religiously based on someone's personal
moral standards on what constitutes "good enough coverage". some people I know
believe in free health care for all by eliminating all crime and disease by spiritual healing
which is free. So why not introduce that option or impose that plan to cover more people?

if you stop at anything less than full coverage of all the population on an equal basis
it is a faith based system and should not be imposed by federal govt.

I have heard all of the above. In spite of how it comes down, it will be the taxpayer who gets hosed....:eusa_hand:

all i know or care about is that i will be paying for more entitlement whores to suck off the teets. THAT is how they will be getting "their" subsidies.

You can take it up front as help paying for your Premium monthly (paid to the insurance company directly on your behalf) or you can take is as a tax credit on the next years return.

Ok say a person was making 20 grand a year and pick the Bronze plan. It cost say $500 bucks a month. But with a subsidy from Obama it only cost that person say $80 bucks a month.

So my Question is does that person have to pay $500 bucks a month for an entire year and gets all that money back the next April 15th? ??????

Or are they going to audit him every month.. Say In May he had a job making 25 grand a year then in August he switched jobs and now is making 40 grand a year??? And then in February he switches jobs again and now only makes 12 grand a year?

I don't get it...

They pay 80 per month. The gov't pays the rest. The subsidy is based on the previous year's reported AGI.

The government pays the rest my ass. That's the problem with people like you. You forget that the government provides no service nor produces a single good that brings in a profit. The ONLY way they can provide it is for someone other than the leech getting a subsidy to pay more taxes.

If that leech is only paying $80/month, that leaves $420 some hardworking individual or group of individuals has to pay to offset what the leech is having handed to him/her.

False.

The subsidy is based on the year in which the subsidy is applied.

Is that right? Interesting. Logistically interesting.

What's intereseting, and sad, is that anyone believes someone else owes them anything in life.

the problem being: you pay low for silver but you get outrageous deductible and still have to pay percentage of bill after you meet the high deductible.
NO, NO AND NO...SIMPLY NOT TRUE....you don't pay low for the silver plan, it is a more expensive plan with better coverage than a Bronze plan and the Cost Sharing Reductions for low income people on the silver plan PAYS for the HIGH deductibles and pays for the high out of pocket expenses...and pays for prescriptions and emergency room costs, and hospitalization and Doctor's visits are free even specialist vistits for the low income individual. Max out of pocket for the whole year can be as low as $200, NOT the $6300!

this is IN ADDITION to the subsidy paying for the monthly premium.

Cost sharing Reductions, if you are low income, brings the Silver Plan to a Gold or Platinum Plan level with no expense to the individual.

deep breath and another sigh............:(

I have silver. 150.00 monthly premium. 3000.00 deductible.
Till I meet the deductible Insurance pays nothing.
You have Obamas lie. I have reality.

No, she's correct. Federal subsidies for premiums and cost sharing for co-pays and deductibles are only available in silver plans. Subsidies for premiums are available for all plans but only silver plans allow for federal subsidies in deductibles and co-pays and only for qualified individuals (low income families).

For a century now, our federal govt has subsidized your health care costs. If you are getting healthcare coverage through your work by allowing employers to completely write off the money they spend on your health cAre insurance as if it is a Salary expense on their taxes.

In addition to this, for over a decade they have also allowed the employee to take a tax deduction on the amt they pay for insurance upfront so this money is tax exempt.

THAT my dear is and has been a HUGE healthcare subsidy by the government that these people with no insurance benefit have not been getting..... So they have been paying For You and others all these decades.

Try buying it when you paid taxes on $80,000 last year, and got laid off because your employer slashed personnel to get under the numbers triggering all that Obamacare crap.

Cuts both ways though.

Stop corporate and personal welfare, and work on paying the debt.

NO deductions for farmers wearing out tractors, no deductions for being stupid enough to have more kids than you can afford.

How is that a subsidy? Employee compensation is a cost to the company, a cost that reduces income. INCOME is taxed.

the income is not taxed, employees get this income tax free, but those buying on Obamacare and individually and not through work, IS TAXED upfront.

AND Originally businesses did NOT have this write off on health care costs as was put in to the tax code.

Ah, you're correct on the first point. I misunderstood. Yes, company health plans are passed tax-free to employees while individually purchased plans are not tax deductible.

You are incorrect on the second point though, there is no special provision that was put into the tax code to allow companies to deduct healthcare expenses. It was a means to get around FDR's wage freezes and existing IRS rules allowing benefits to be deducted from company income without being taxed as income to employees.

Those without insurance have been getting all sorts of free care for years that make any deduction by an employer for healthcare nothing in comparison. Not really true at all....what happens, if a few of the people without insurance or with cruddy insurance do get in an accident or extremely ill that costs a bundle, if they can't pay it back little by little, they declare bankruptcy.... only the indigent already, survive without that happening....

AND MOST PEOPLE that were not lucky enough to have health care insurance offered by their employers as a benefit, were not sick enough to have these astronomical medical bills....some were, but only the poorest would have gvt help in paying the bill,

lower middle class and above did not get any gvt help, they owed the money back to hospitals themselves....
