Sure...and sometimes expressing an opposing view is unwarranted.Subject debate of history can have opposing views, in fact the whole human history is of interaction between opposing views.Sometimes it's good to simply stop typing.VERY interesting diagrams! Thank you. They actually prove my point. This thread is about the value of US drafted manpower. Russia assembled the nasty gang. Much bigger than the US. So the US punks smashed up the German lunchbox by simply aligning with the goons of the Russian godfather. Hardly an achievement. At least not in the positive sense.....WW2 was the greatest event in human history --beyond any doubtThe greatest generation was not all that great if we consider that their leverage was their pact with the devil called Soviet Union. It is easy to smash up your neighbor's competing shop if you do it with the godfather's goons.
...the enemy was Germany--not Russia
Russia put more military up against Germany than all the rest combined

I don't think that most of the people that were fighting in France knew or cared about the wider European geopolitical milieu.
They saw an evil in front of them to be defeated and that was it.
But, by all means go ahead and criticise the polticians that cynically divided up Europe in secret meetings before the war started and again before it ended.
