Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) pressed a top “screening” Homeland Security official for numbers on refugees during a House hearing on Thursday — but he didn’t get many answers.

The official, Kelli Ann Burriesci, is the deputy assistant secretary with the DHS Office of Screening Coordination, Office of Policy. Given her title, Jordan expression confusion as to her apparent lack of information.

“How many Syrian refugees have entered the United States in the last year?” Jordan asked.

“Sir, I didn’t bring any of my, any of the refugee numbers with me because I was prepared to talk about visa waivers but I can certainly have us send that to you,” Burriesci responded.

Jordan then asked, “Do you know how many Americans have travelled to Syria in the last year?”

“I don’t have that number on me either,” the official replied.
