Hate is the Fuel of American Politics

If the Internet makes it possible to convince millions of US voters to experiment at least once with the same practice, would that be a good thing?

What changes if a significant percentage of US House and Senate incumbents are FLUSHED from DC in one news cycle?
I have said for two decades that if the Green and Libertarian Parties could Winn one hundred seats in the House and twenty seats in the Senate then you would see the Republicans and Democrats change quickly…

But

Let be clear those pulling the strings would corrupt any political party if they see winds of change helping the common folk because they ( those that run it all ) wouldn’t want the common folk to have power…

This is why they use MSM and other media outlets to spread their propaganda and the American voter is brainwashed into thinking you have only two choices…

So it might change for a short period but it will never change to the point the people voice is being heard…

It would be most ironic should the dollar lose reserve status, if it’s caused by this ginned up war in a nation of zero national interest to the US. It would prove our ruling class is prepared to destroy the nation economically for the benefit the oligarchs of the MIC. It’s beyond crazy.
The US proclivity for sanctions blocking Europe, Asia and other countries from trade and investment with Russia, Iran, and China has imposed large opportunity costs on these US allies. This is made worse by recent confiscations of gold and foreign reserves of Venezuela, Afghanistan, and now nuclear-armed Russia that has pretty much ended the idea that dollar holdings are a safe haven investment.

Whichever party occupies the White House when the dollar loses its global reserve currency monopoly will lose power for at least a generation, imho.

Somebody finally recognizes the Jesus Nazi authoritarian problem but will never acknowledge the Marxist authoritarian problem.
Can you name any prominent proponents of Marxist authoritarianism?

Democrats had fifty years to write Roe v Wade into law with Carter, Clinton, and Obama controlling the White House and Congress at the beginning of their presidencies.

This sort of hypocrisy and duplicity was the fertilizer for the Jesus Nazis and its exclusive focus on the culture wars and identity politics at the expense of economic, political, and social justice issues.

It's image over substance regardless of which major party controls government.

t wont happen but a man can dream, right?
Convincing millions of voters to select their congressional representatives from established 3rd party candidates instead of voting for the lesser evil among Republicans and Democrats is a genuine longshot.

Ralph Nader has made the claim that 100 million Americans donating $1 could fund a grass-roots campaign capable of delivering Medicare for All in 18 months.

Something similar would likely be necessary to FLUSH hundreds of congressional incumbent from DC in a single news cycle. Or it's possible a Great Crisis could strike just before a mid-term or general election and a spontaneous revolt could result in a mass exodus of incumbents.

"You might ask yourself: Why is it 'important' that we spend thirty, forty, fifty billion dollars pounding sand down the rat hole that is post-Maidan Ukraine, grift central for the sketchy nexus of US politicians and their sponsors in the warcraft industry? Answer: Aside from one final magnificent payday, they are producing a grand opera of distraction to direct the American public’s attention from the sinking of our own ship-of-state in the waters of Babylon."

Here's one for you

"In a rare interview from the frontlines of the Russian invasion, we speak with American journalist Billy Nessen in the Ukrainian city of Severodonetsk.

"It is the easternmost city still held by Ukrainian forces after almost three months of war.

"He says Russian troops have devastated the city with heavy shelling.

"The interview with Nessen was interrupted when a shell landed in the building next door.

"Nessen speaks about the Ukrainian resistance, the Azov Battalion and more, including the U.S. and NATO’s role in the conflict, especially as the U.S. Senate is expected to approve an additional $40 billion in military and economic aid to Ukraine. 'Obviously the West is determined that Ukraine has to win this war,' says Nessen."

FDR used the Great Depression to transition from a fiscal conservative who wanted to balance the federal budget in 1933 to a champion of the New Deal primarily because of widespread popular pressure.

There were socialist and communist parties in this country who wanted to bury, not reform, capitalism, and they had millions of allies at that time who were more than willing to listen.

Convincing millions of US voters today to substitute a Green of Libertarian candidate instead of voting against a Democrat or Republican might well require a similar economic stimulus; although, there is no organized left currently in place to focus that potential revolt the way there was 90 years ago.

I hate to say it -- I really do, and it's becoming clear to me that we're not what I thought we were -- but the topic is simply too complicated for public consumption. We simply no longer have the patience to sit through complexity and nuance. After about ten seconds, we have to check our phones to see what's up with the funny animals on Tick Tock.

Green/Clean Energy was (I repeat, was) something that could have been like Kennedy's moon shot challenge, it's the obvious next step in energy, but we just no longer have ability to do big things like that. Something this fucking obvious -- dirty energy to clean energy -- is just beyond us now.

Maybe another country can lead the way, one that is not so paralyzed by calcified political ideology.

WE the people made that choice in 2016 and you see how the left behaved. We broke from the deep state politicians who are only interested in their own fortunes. We put a man, NOT a politician, not an attorney, into the white house and he DID VERY WELL. and look what the left did to him. Nice of you to blame the american people. You say we're full of hate now? well i wonder why that may be?

Americans are full of hate. All you have to do is look at the polarization the voters have created. People have allowed themselves to be driven by the fringe.

That's the reason we get the politicians we do.

And Trump was not a great president.

Exactly all we need is a 3rd party with enough seats so that neither the republicans nor the democrats can pass anything on their own.

And the "experts" one side relies on to explain the issues are political poison to the other side. The Climate Crisis might be the best example, but I'm beginning to believe the generations that have come of age since the end of the Cold War are seriously ignorant of what happens when nuclear weapons explode on the opposite side of the planet. While this last point isn't really helpful, I keep remembering how Trump and Biden polled in 1988's POTUS contest, i.e., about where Kanya West did in 2020, three decades later the US is reeling from two senile geezers who were never qualified to lead this country and that may turn out to be the good news?

A combination of Greens and Libertarians could make campaign finance reform and ending the Electoral College a lot more likely.

Possibly instead of 70% of eligible voters deciding a POTUS race we could see 90% casting a ballot.

Ralph Nader constantly reminds his audience how relatively small numbers of registered voters can bring about major changes:

It Takes Just One Percent of People to Change Things: An Interview With Ralph Nader

"It doesn't take that much for voters in various areas of the country to summon the candidates for their own debates.

"Less than 1 percent.

"We calculated in 2012 that if we had about 10,000 people in 20 areas of the country mobilizing to demand that the candidates go to their communities, that would be pretty decisive..."

"It's easier than you think to change things, if two conditions operate: 1) If 1 percent of the people become very engaged in civic life. 2) They reflect what Abraham Lincoln called the public sentiment.

"If that occurs, it becomes a pretty difficult movement to stop by the oligarchs and the plutocrats."
