At the time she was a rising Hollywood starlet and even back then they were looked up at by a lot of people. Going to Hanoi was like being stabbed in the back by a trusted friend. Sure there was a lot of domestic turmoil here at home and others wanted to withdraw from Nam but they did not go and provide support and propaganda like she did.

Was she a traitor? Yes. She betrayed the trust of the American people and by definition this is a traitor.

Will she be forgiven? She has to a large extent been forgiven by many, yet many vets who served and their families and others can never get the sight of her sitting amongst many North Vietnamese soldiers and smiling while our men were dying in the rice paddies, jungles, and fields of South Vietnam. But this occurred almost 40 years ago and many of the younger generations know nothing about it so they have no hate for her.

Putting it in today's perspective, if Lindsey Lohan went to Afghanistan and posed with members of the Taliban would she be a traitor? The Taliban did not attack us, Al-Qaeda did.

She a traitor to the country that has served no jail time. If it was not for her fame she would be rotting in a grave with a broken neck.

Jane Fonda was an American Patriot whom history has proved correct.

I wish we had more citizens like her.

And will stand up and take action when they see it being violated by the government.

They are the real "Hero's" of America.

There's a vast difference between working against the government to stop VN, as we should be to stop Lybia (hmm, why aren't any of the Hollywood libs prancing about now?), and specifically going after the soldiers and working against them.

As a Vietnam Vet my feelings toward her are mixed.

Much of her tactics and rhetoric were directed against the soilders.

When she needed to focus her efforts towards the US gov. And it's leaders.

But time and history has proven her right.

Which puts her in the patriots category.

Along with Muhammad Ali and other American citizens who were against the Vietnam War.
