My name is Hector Lopez and I am from Lima, Peru. I've just came across your forum while surfing on the net in search of legal doctrine referring to the use of drones and targeted killings. I'm journalist and lawyer and usually write to Peruvian military magazines. I'm very interesting in the subject of the use of drones. A year and half ago I wrote an article on military robots and it's introduction to the battlefield in Iraq and Afghanistan. I'd appreciate your collaboration to gather info and different viewpoints and perspectives on the subject I'm currently writing about.

Hello Hector - Welcome to the playground. Hope you have fun here and play nicely with the other kids. So, you're from Lima, huh? I think that's great. I've always been a big fan of Lima beans... A little humor for you there. Again, welcome.

Well, you will find a good number of drones on this board. As for their ability to kill targets.................................

Welcome!

Welcome to the board, Hector.

Drones are fascinating, safe to fly, deadly when need be...but really nothing more than super-sophisticated model airplanes controlled by radio signals.

I think the one in this picture is being operated from Colorado.

This is the smaller of the drones I saw in (where I was). You can see the larger model (with upward pointing tail control surfaces) in its hangar to the left.

You can probably get more information of drones from google than you can here.

Hola. I was in Lima last year. Had a great time and the people were fantastic. Unfortunately, I only got to hang around for 5 days, so didn't get to travel around much.

Welcome.

welcome Hector.....my therapist for my knee surgery was Peruvian....had some interesting stories about growing up there.....

so, how DOES guinea pig taste? I'm actually quite serious in asking this question.

I didn't eat it. My Peruvian sister in law said it's amazing.

not that i'd ever try it. lol..

My special lady friend went to Peru last year and, though usually an adventurous sort, she didn't eat the guinnea pig. I, however, am kinda curious. Though, not curious enough to go grocery shopping down at the local pet store.

Another thing in Peru.. all the cocoa leaves. She brought back teas and candies and all kinds of oils and such with a cocoa base, to my shock given what they produce...

I was watching The Motorcycle Diaries with her over new years (good movie even if the che haters don't think so) and she'd actually been to almost every Peruvian location where scenes were shot. Very cool.

I thought it was a great place. We went for my brother's wedding which was huge fun. But no cuy (guinea pig) was served. I didn't even know about it til we were watching Anthony Bourdain a few weeks ago. But it's supposedly very good. I don't eat cute food though and I have problems eating stuff that looks like it did when it was alive.

According to Bourdain, the coca leaves help with altitude sickness. Its chewed a lot as you get up higher near Macchu Piccu. Interesting for sure. But it didn't seem that people got high from it.

I haven't seen Motorcycle Diaries. I hear it's a good flick, though. Neat that your lady friend got to see all those places. I'd love to go back and have the time to really see the country.

I highly recommend that movie.. again, not for the che haters but I kinda compared it to a latin american version of On The Road more than anything else.

and yea, she's a cool chick. I lucked out.
