GOP stares down Obama; Obama blinks. GOP wins.

Worse than the Great Depression?

Worse than the Civil War?

Worse than Pearl Harbor?

Worse than the burst of the Dotcom Bubble followed rapidly by 9/11?

Puh-leeze. Most of Obama's problems are self-inflicted. And as I recall, he did run for office. If he didn't wish to face the responsibilities of being President, he could easily have avoided them by not running and fulfilling his first term in the Senate.

Certainly worse than the garden variety recession Bush took on. Jeez, I didn't think there were any Bush apologists left on this board.

As to the others, they also fall under the umbrella of "one of."

C'mon why do you have to argue semantics? What would you have done differently that you're soooooo sure would have worked better?

You can't even describe what it means. You selected Non-farm Employment, which understates the total employed by several million.

The link to the total employed figure I provided shows a net increase in Total Employed People of approx. 6M during Bush's two terms.

His highest number acknowledged is 3.3 million but the real number is closer to 1.8 million with the jobs lost subtracted (don't you find it deliciously suspicious that no one anywhere has "kept track" of jobs that were outsourced and eliminated by multinationals - Those numbers would probably lead to a real proletariat revolt). THAT is the number that counts. His net job growth was ZERO. Just deal with it. If you lose more jobs than are created, your net growth is ZERO.

Wouldn't be an issue if the left didnt foster government policies that encourage wealth to move overseas.

What has Obama's "net job creation" been?
Can't tell, they're still trying to find all those shovels for all those projects he promised.

Hey, you've got to give him credit for the few hundred workers it took to decorate the Obama's Christmas Tree.

Obama's Christmas tree takes 4 days to put up at height of economic crisis | Mail Online

The way Obama is going? He's be better off with a Festivus Pole...

It did. When Bush left office, there were 6M more jobs than when he started. 136M people were employed when he took office; 142M were employed when he left.

And now, we're down to 139M, less than two years into Obamanomics.

The exact usefulness of these numbers is debated. On the one hand, they include only nonfarm payroll employment, which excludes certain types of jobs, notably the self-employed. However, as a semi-balancing factor, they count one person with two jobs as two employed persons.

Additionally, for at least the first eight months of a President's term, he inherits a budget proposed and implemented by his predecessor (as well as an overall economy which may be in decline or recovery).

How come right wingers never bother to read their own damn links.

yeap the cons won again.

They got what they wanted ,MORE tax breaks for the wealthy.

They threatened to shut down EVERYTHING unless the rich got more money.

They were willing to hang all Americans out to dry and fuck the economy to get tax breaks for the wealthy.

They won.

Now in the next congress what will you say if the dem minority uses the same exact tactics to get what they want?

You will rail and scream and there will be NO END to the cavailing.

You will pretend that NO ONE ever did anything like this before.

Haha. But you forget one crucial piece of information:

Democrats and left wingers ALWAYS fold. They ALWAYS back down. The GOP never intended to let the unemployed go without an extension. They knew that wouldn't happen, because they knew with 100% certainty Obama would fold. He, like almost all lefties, are spineless.

It's a trend lefty types show throughout their lives. The problem lefties have is this: Right wingers are winners. We were the guys in high school that played sports and did well, while lefties played in the band. We were the guys in college who already were making money or setting up jobs for their future, while lefties smoked pot, protested against some war and took Cultural Diversity 101. Heck, some righties didn't even go to college, but instead started working right out of high school, and became 30 year olds who own a business and make good money, while the lefty college grad is 30 years old whining about the job he is "owed" because of his degree.

Righties faced down enemies. We win shit. We win the sports game. We win the girl. We win the fight. We win the political battle, apparantly, also.

Because Obama just cemented himself in with a long line of lefty losers.

And the GOP (Who isn't even in power yet) just won, again.

God dang lefty losers. Haven't grown out of that shit since middle school dodgeball, have ya?

Um...

A. Obama has been in office more than 8 months.

B. WTF is a "semi-balancing factor?"

C. When, exactly, will Obama be accountable for being the President?
