WASHINGTON — After a grueling, all-night debate that ended close to 5 a.m., the Senate on Saturday adopted its first budget in four years, a $3.7 trillion blueprint for 2014 that would fast-track passage of tax increases, trim spending gingerly and leave the government still deeply in the debt a decade from now

Really?

The adults are declared back when they decide to ignore the mounting debt problem and even make it worse after a trillion in tax hikes that we can’t take. I fail to see what your definition of adult is…

The Senate is majority democrat. No surprise that they want increased taxes. They want taxes increased until the back of the American economy is broken. If they can't do it with taxes, they will do it with regulations putting more and more entire industries out of business like they are doing in Maine with the fishermen. Come May 1, there will be no fishing industry in the nation. Good job democrats.

and leave the government still deeply in the debt a decade from now.

And you feel that is a good thing truly scary.

It isn't necessarily a good thing.....but it beats embarking on a foolish austerity program that will tank our recovery. You might want to get behind the idea now....so you won't look as stupid when you try to take credit for it in a few years.

I wouldn't be to sure about that ... the key here is Republicans withdrew their 4 year filibuster on Obama's budget.

Obama's budget will now replace Bush's 2009 budget debacle which Republicans have defended with their lives for 4 long years!

:)

Leading economists and scholars - and Dick Cheney - have told you over and over and over ....

"Debt is a good thing"

Republicans have had a hard time understanding that because they destroyed our economy with stupid policies - no one but no one will listen to their solution to the mess they created.

Wonder why?

:)

Republicans cut taxes until they broke the back of the American economy.

Now Republicans must sit quietly for another 12 years while we fix it.

:)

The only sound democrat policy is to completely break the economy. That's what they want.

No new income taxes. Cutting of Defense. SS reform on means testing and age of retirement. 0% increase in all other budgets. Mandatory 1-day furlough for GS7 to GS16 per month.

Only the truly stupid will take credit for pushing our debt even higher you might do that I won't.

Would that be same leading scholars and economist that advised the politicians on the policies that gave us this massive debt? I will continue to live by the don't spend more than earn motto it was worked very well for me over the years maybe the rest of the country especially the government should give it a try.
